February Sneak Peek #2 is A232344, THE CREPE BLAZER. First, this is the exact same crepe fabric as A213215 and A221808, so many of you are familiar with the fabric already. It is 62%polyester/33%rayon/5%spandex. What separates this jacket from all the others???? Let’s start with the length…………it’s approx. 27 1/2 inches long for the xs…..this is a LONGER jacket and has a LEANER look. The tailoring is SUPERB!!! There are body seams in the front and back, that start at the shoulder and end at the hem. Plus, there are front body darts and a center back seam for PRECISION shaping. Each seam has a 1/4 inch top stitch to emphasize the shape and cut of the jacket The lapels, collar and pocket flaps are left without top stitching to give a dressier and more PRISTINE look……….This is a three button front jacket, and……….THE BUTTONS………are REAL PEARL!!!!…..not plastic. This may seem a trifle to you, but you NEVER find real pearl buttons on jackets in this price range. Even jackets that cost twice as much, rarely have real pearl buttons…….plus there is a extra button inside. The pockets are real too. There is a piped or besson pocket beneath the flap. I always advise…..if you have no intention of using the pockets, then don’t open them, as they will come to you basted shut. The sleeves are long, but there is no button on the sleeve so it is a very easy alteration for my women who need a shorter length. Of course, the jackets are fully lined with my beautiful satin lining…………This is the type of jacket I would see Bianca Jagger or Lauren Hutton wearing as a uniform………looking very nonchalant and gorgeous! This is the ultimate blazer…..the wear with everything and over everything jacket….from the Kate shirt and jeans to a long evening skirt and a sequin shell. For all of you who have been asking for a longer jacket……here it is!! For my shorter ladies……this is NOT too long for you…..do not be afraid to try a longer look…….with the matching pant it s very elongating. I know the label says you can wash this beautifully tailored jacket, but I’m from the old school. A jacket like this, IMHO, should be dry cleaned and professionally pressed……..which brings up another subject……….when this arrives to you in those luxurious yellow plastic bags….PLEASE…..do me, the jacket and yourselves a huge favor, and steam it out first to get rid of the shipping wrinkles……I swear you will have a much better impression of the way it should and could look. If you love it, I would even go as far to say….have it professionally pressed…..in my estimation, it is worth it.
A232347, is the matching CREPE TROUSER. It is a zip front trouser with a single button at the waist. The pants will be in numeric sizes…. 4, 6, 8 etc. The leg opening at the bottom is approx. 9 3/4 inches, and it has a 32 inch inseam with an 1 1/4 inch hem. The Ivory pants are lined, but the black are not. There is an elastic at the side waist and the back, leaving the front completely flat. There isn’t an over abundance of elastic, so it isn’t all shirred up and bulky. On the body it is basically flat all around. These are great trousers to own and to wear with many things you already have. EVERYONE needs a pair……or two…… of great dress pants!…..YES YES YES…..they will be available in petites and the number is A232348.
I hear you all now…..what are those sweaters he has under the blazers????The BLACK TANK will be on this show and there will be a separate sneak peek. The lime and flamingo sweaters are all part of my new “ON LINE ONLY” Whisper Knit Spring Group! No hurricanes this time to destroy them…..what a disaster that was!!!They will be coming later in the season, but I will try to “sneak” in as many as I can so you all can get a good look. Of course, I will have pictures of each and every style with all the details…………Since I don’t have much time between now and the show, I will probably have two sneak peeks per day…………..Enjoy, much Love……….Louis
Louis, are these pants like the crepe pants that matched the crepe jacket (with pearl buttons) to which you refer?
Dear Donna…..I no longer have those samples so I am not sure of they are exactly the same style…..the fabric is the same.
Thanks Louis! I will give these a shot as I absolutely adore those and have them worn them both as a suited look with the jacket as well as more casually with a great top/sweater and cute shoes.
Louis, I posted this twice – just didn’t want it to get lost buried in a thread – so forgive if you already answered this:
Question: What about the shorter boho with pleat detail – A224718 – in the gorgeous dark navy. Would you think it too “frilly/feminine” to wear with the Ivory blazer?
I waited in vain with fond hope for the longer original boho to come out in the dark navy. They “goofed” it seems and posted it as coming – when what they MUST have meant was the dark navy which did come out in the shorter pleat detail version. Funny thing. I ordered it in the longer boho since it claimed to be on waitlist. Then some time later – POOF – and their posting disappeared. Somebody goofed. And I still show as being on waitlist for it 🙂 One of these days I’ll get a nice letter from QVC saying that this particular waitlist item “is no longer available”.
Question: It’s been YEARS since the longer boho came out in navy – maybe even predates my shopping years at the Q. Don’t they think it’s time to order the beloved original boho in Ivory and in Dark Navy?
I think the skirt in navy would look great with the ivory blazer and as for the boho…..it is coming in DARK NAVY. When an order gets processed it shows up on the site for a few days [I don’t know why, I think it’s just a programming glitch] and since the item isn’t due for months they eventually take it down, but not before the early birds have seen it and put it on wait list. So if you still have it on wait list, as soon as it is in the warehouse they will probably ship it to you. The boho was never in navy. The other boho type with the elastic yoke came in the espresso, white and dk. navy…….so it is definitely time.
That’s GREAT news! I’m so glad I left it on waitlist. 🙂 Thanks Louis.
Hi Louis!
Thank you for bringing us the ultimate blazer! Perfect for the office and beyond. Is there a back vent?
Looking forward to picking up this suit in black and white!
Many thanks and kindest regards,
TourEiffel
P.S. I wore your silver sparkle watch to the CCDA Ball on Friday night. Love it!
Dear TourEiffel………..No back vent….just clean lines. I can’t remember the last time I put a back vent in a blazer. They are OK on very masculine blazers, but not very feminine. I’m so glad you like your sparkly watch….Jac wears hers all the time……….even to her Pilates class!
Thank you!
I know this won’t be the same dye lot, but is the Ivory the same Ivory that you used for the A213215 jacket with the pearl buttons? Thanks!
Dear Barbara….that is what I gave as the standard.
Thanks, Louis!
Barbara, did that jacket come in ivory also? I thought that was “sand”……..
It came in “pearl” the first time it was introduced, which is an ivory color.
Louis, Everything you bring us is so beautiful. Are the pants in numeric sizes or S, M, L?
Thanks.
Judy Ann
Dear Judy……… thanks for asking that….they are numeric. I think that has become the QVC standard for all woven fabrics. Only knits will be SML.
Thank you, Louis.
I just watched the videos for the A213215 and A221808 blazers in the same crepe and tried to imagine them three inches longer, and read some reviews on the fabric. Yes, this new black crepe blazer is definitely for me with a pair of the black crepe trousers. All the Sneak Peek details and references you give us are greatly appreciated. Much better than the limited info QVC lists. Thank you.
BTW, when it comes time, I would appreciate styling tips on the right skirt to wear with the blazer as well…. or perhaps this longer blazer cut is best worn with trousers?
Dear Jean…..a pencil skirt, in print or solid would be perfect……even a denim pencil with the ivory jacket and the blue Kate shirt would look great. I will have a beautiful faux de chine pleated skirt [it’s in one of the pictures] that looks fabulous. As Deborah said it’s VERY GREAT GATSBY!
Louis what about the shorter boho with pleat detail – A224718 – in the gorgeous dark navy. Would you think it too “frilly/feminine” to wear with the Ivory blazer?
I can picture wearing either jacket and the white, pleated skirt to see The Great Gatsby. I just got the perfect, layered bob, too!
The faux de chine pleated skirt will also be in this show…..ivory, black and bamboo.
I adore these pleated skirts, Louis. They have in-built elegance. Thank you for bringing us more of them. What will be the length?
By the way, I’m over the moon with your faux wrap skirt and body suit in truffle. Already had it in the red, which is stunning. The sets make me smile when simply trying them on. Can’t wait to wear them out in the world! Thank you for your “adventurous” and creative work.
Dear Goldie…the skirt is approx. 28 inches. So happy you are enjoying the bodysuit and skirt. It’s a little out of the box fo9r QVC, so Iam very happy the two pieces are getting a positive response. I have more bodysuits in the works.
Be still my heart! 🙂 Thanks!
Oh, I have been waiting for a longer black jacket, and here it is! I am so excited, and cannot wait to purchase. Louis, thank you so much for all your hard work , you make me feel so fabulously put together every day! You are my absolute favorite.
Louis, thank you so much! These are iconic, timeless jackets. The seaming is so flattering and just lovely to look at. I can picture the ivory suit with the blue Kate shirt and lots of your gold jewelry.
The pants are nearly the same design as the slim fit that we all fell in love with in the fall collection of 2011, aren’t they? 😉 Thanks for finding a way to bring them back! I hope both pieces are very popular so next year they can be reordered and come back in navy and sand, too! Thank you so much for the sneak peeks!
Dear Deborah…….It’s hard to compare because these pants have a wider leg, but the tops are similar.
Sounds absolutely perfect. The wider leg is sooo elegant, and I do remember the pics you mentioned of Bianca Jagger and Lauren Hutton. Aspirational, classic and subtley romantic dressing for any era.
Lovely!!
(1) Will the petite inseam be 28 or 29″?
(2) The single button on the pants– will that button match the pearl buttons on the blazers?
(3) I’m getting ahead but do the lime and flamingo tops have sleeves or are they sleeveless?
Thank you.
Regards,
Chris
Dear Chris…..I don’t know the inseam length on the petite…sorry. The button on the pant looks like the exact same thing, so I’m going to say yes, though I did not give any specific instruction for the pant. They usually automatically use the same button unless it’s too bulky. You are getting ahead!! there are styles with and without sleeves in each color. Every style will come in all 6 colors and there are two cardigans to choose from and to mix and match with the sweaters…..so don’t be afraid of the sleeveless….you can always wear a matching cardigan as a set.
Sleeveless is my best friend in the summer! Thanks again for your quick responses.
Regards,
Chris
OMG, Bianca Jagger in that iconic white suit and Lauren Hutton in a navy blazer with pajama bottoms. LDO, you are a genius!

Bianca Jagger in her white suit. Off to Studio 54?
Oh boy! What luxury! We all know the fabric and now we have full length sleeves. These beautifully tailored jackets and trousers will fly out the door! I also like the pleated white skirt. Thank goodness spring will come again.
Louis, you brilliant man! I have been looking for a simple, classic blazer with long, slim lines … and here it is. Of course, I’m getting the black, but have also been thinking about an ivory blazer to throw on with jeans. What a really nice surprise that you’re bringing these next week.
One question – I don’t usually like longer length tanks, so I’m very interested to see these on the models. Do you happen to know the length of the tanks?
And that hot pink is looking might fine! I went way out from my black/grey/beige/ivory limb and bought the hot pink mock neck last year. Was surprised at how much I enjoyed wearing it!
Dear Enjay…..the tank isn’t supper long ….it’s 25 inches for the xs and is definitely shorter than the blazer. It has a 11 inch rib band at the bottom, but he ribs are very fine and fade into the garment. They just give a nice fit without being tight. Everyone was afraid of the rib band on the scoop neck that went with the TSV jacket and they were gone in a flash. I predict the same for this tank…….a scoop….on the March show I will have a matching shrug in the WK. I don’t know why they split the two pieces but….. mine is not to reason WHY?
Beautiful jacket. I had a black jacket years ago that was longer in length and indeed made me look very tall and slender. Wore it with a crisp white shirt, black trousers, and tooled black leather clogs. looked very chic indeed. Sadly I was a size 4 and now am a size 8 so i donated it to charity. Now I have an excuse to buy another one.
BTW, many years ago there was a store her called professional woman that catered to working women who wanted to look like high powered executives. They sold a lot of men’s style shirts but all made feminine with things like contrast color banded collars and cuffs, french cuffs with embroidery and the like. I still have 2 of those shirts after nearly 20 years and they still look great. Do you think this might be something you would consider doing in Linea? I do think you are the only designer on QVC whose customers still like to dress professionally and would enjoy a version of this. And, for a reasonable price. Back then, these shirts were close to $50 but well worth it since the style is not trendy, here today, gone tomorrow, thanks Louis
Good morning Louis,
Oh my goodness! You have outdone yourself with these pieces. I absolutely love the tailoring and the length of the jacket. It is so sophisticated and simply gorgeous. This will be “the” black suit in my closet. Thank you for such beautiful clothes.
