“THE BLACK AND WHITE FINALE”

We have come full circle……I started the show with the Black and ended the show with the Black and White…..These are just a few of the looks…..At the top left a black boucle jacket with crystal buttons over a Swarvoski Crystal skirt on Elaine Erwin. The tights were diamond studded. Below Elaine is Nadege in a Swarvoski crystal top over a silk velvet skirt…..again diamond studded tights. In the center a Silk Satin tunic shirt belted over the stretch velvet shoe boots. This time the boots are studded with crystals and have a spike high heel…very sexy….. Claudia Shiffer wore this in the show and I think every man went bonkers!….To the right Yasmeen Ghuri, another fabulous super model in my Black silk velvet dress studded with larger crystals……These were all hand sewn………This dress was another homage to my mentor Norman Norell…………….and then Jac ended the show in the Crystal Column……………..As I look through all of these pictures I can’t help but think so many of them if not all can still look great today………………………..Good design IS timeless, and could go on forever………………………………………………………………………………………….

……………………………..I hope you have enjoyed going down memory lane with me as much as I have had reminiscing……………………………………….

We worked together in the 70’s at Georgini. How I WISH I had saved those clothes. Big mistake. Your talent and style is still top-notch. Never stop. Fondly, Peggy.

Dear Peggy….of course I remember you…..long blond hair! That was my first design job, and I will always be grateful to Allan Duddle for giving me that incredible chance. You were his assistant, and Bart and Jim were the salesmen. There was one other very nice young salesman with dark blond hair and a slight build, but I don’t remember his name. I don’t know what happened to any of them, but I remember you were all very close. I do remember that Jim had worked on tour ships in the Pacific and wondered if he went back into that business. I had heard Allan moved to Florida and opened a decorating business. I also heard he had some health problems. Do you keep in touch with any of them?…..It was so many years ago…..another life time ago. I am so happy to hear from you…..Fondly, Louis

    Dear Louis,

What a WONDERFUL gift you’ve given us this Sunday! Sneak peeks and stories from behind the scenes of a world of glamour and artistry bar none; loved every photo and every word! There’s not a piece in these collections that wouldn’t look fabulous, and stop traffic today. What a treat to see them all through the lens of your experiences! THANK YOU 🙂

    Louis,
Would you ever consider doing a book containing all those wonderful photos and stories from your career and your fashion drawings? I am one Linea Lady who would love to see a book like that.

    Louis,
Thank you so much for sharing these gorgeous creations with us. They took my breath away! Truly, they are works of art! I loved hearing the stories and learning about all the work and attention to detail that went into everything you did. Thank you for taking the time to share all these treasures with us and for continuing to create such beautiful things for us now.

Dear Louis…what a lovely trip into the past. In 2020, these styles seem (to me) to be just as desirable. Love the tailored blazers, especially. Thank you!

I have a memory of watching a segment, as a girl in my 20’s, .It was on every week and I remember how I could not wait to see the latest fashions..I was not able to purchase much and could not tell you where I shopped but could have been I mangans. I remember her interviews with the designees whose fashion on a runway had just been show..I am thinking the host name was Elsa… And I remember you being interviewed .Not sure if my memory is right. That was so long ago….Stay well…Tricia

Tricia, your memory is pretty good. Her name was Elsa Klench and she was a dear business friend. She did her weekly shows and interviewed everyone on both sides of the Atlantic…..actually where ever there was a fashion show EWlsa was there. If you go on You Tube and search Elsa Klench [don’t remember if it’s a c or an s]. You will find many of her interviews. Not too long ago I saw, on you tube, an interview she had done right after show on models with the new short hair cut. Jac and I are in it. Jac looks gorgeous.

Louis, these stories, pictures, and your fashions are amazing! Your comments about Norell perfume sent me running to my one lone remaining bottle of Norell cologne for a tiny whiff and a spritz. Needless to say I am hoarding it like the dickens! It used to be you could get it from Neiman Marcus, where I live in Texas. but now you cannot get it anywhere. I have loved it since the early 1970’s. Please take care and stay safe with all of the viral madness going on around us. I look forward to when we can get out more and I can wear my new Linea pieces! Anxiously waiting for the newest blouses! Terri
