Louis, it sounds like you had a lovely evening last night and your preferred team won! How much snow did you get and do tell us what kind of cake you made!
I love the idea of adding whipped cream cheese in onion dip. Thanks to Jackie!
My husband and boys were die hard Green Bay Packer fans as we grew up in Green Bay. Unfortunately, since our Cody sustained a brain injury while playing football 4-1/2 years ago, my husband stopped watching football overnight. We watch baseball and some hockey more now!
Love and hugs to you this chilly Monday! I haven’t ventured out for a walk for several days as it is just too cold! I have been doing a bit of deep cleaning, making soap, and cooking! Off to make supper and hopefully some lemon bars for dessert.
P.S. I hope Jennifer is doing well! I miss her!
Dear Karen, you have mentioned your son many times, but I didn’t know his injuries were incurred while playing football. I hope he is doing the best he can. I made my sister in laws 6 egg cake…..different from Tante Ann’s but delicious it has a whole bar of cream cheese. I added a little twist by adding the fresh juice of a whole lemon into the batter at the end….yummy!
Hi Louis,
Wish I was watching the game at your house. The food and ambiance sounds perfect! Funny, I have been in the mood for onion dip lately. I have not had it in years. I’m rooting for the Buc’s and may just make some onion dip too! Enjoy your day.
Donna it’s so easy….one packet of Lipton’s Onion dip mix and one container of sour cream. I made it early this morning so it all melds together well
Thanks Louis. I can do that! I’ll be thinking of you as we eat our onion dip!
Try adding whipped cream cheese to the onion soup mix and sour cream. You’ll never look back. Everyone has a favorite chip. Mine – Lay’s Classic.
Thanks for the tip Jackie what kind, brand and how much?
Kraft brand “whipped”. It mixes better than the cream cheese in a brick. 4 oz in an 8 ounce sour cream size will do the trick. Add a little more or less based on how you like it. This has been my fave for 50 years.
You are way more ready than I am and one of my teams is playing in it! LOL
Wish I could share a pic of two of my boys (cocker spaniels) wearing their Bucs bandanas. 😊
Enjoy!!
GO BUCS!!!! I want Tom Brady to win just to shove Boston’s nose in it. They were stupid to let him go. It serves them right…..Now where are they…just with a coach with a BIG HEAD!….The snow is coming down and it’s just beautiful…..much prettier than the last one because there’s no wind so it’s just gently PILING UP! ….LOL
Louis,
I have to admit I was not a Patriots or Brady fan. My heart will always be with the Vikings and Bucs. However, I too wonder why they let Brady go. Dumb. I’m glad he came to the Bucs, and I am now a fan. He really is an awesome quarterback.
I enjoy your snow pics! So pretty to look at, but glad I don’t have to deal with shoveling it or driving in it!
Being from NY….Jac and I still considered ourselves New Yorkers even though we moved from the city quite a while ago. I never think of myself as a [don’t even know what you call yourself when you live in CT?????LOL] I was never a Brady fan or a Patriots fan….to New Yorkers they and Balacheck [however you spell it] were the enemy. I think Balacheck is an idiot for letting him go and has a head as big as the moon. So I’d like to see Brady stick the knife in his back so to speak. Ballecheck has made some nasty remarks…..sore looser…. Besides Brady should break all records for the best quarterback ever and then he can retire, which he won’t no matter how much his wife wants him too. Good luck to both teams….a little more to Brady!
Yes, the Patriots were/are enemies to a lot of people. Remember Deflategate? LOL
I agree with all of your comments about Ballacheck!
I had to google his name…it’s spelled Balechick….I certainly do remember Deflategate….it was just as bad as the Astro stealing base pitchers signs. They should of had the world series win taken away. I stopped snowing and the sky is a beautiful pale blue with peach clouds I have to go and take pics.
Louis,
Your treats and snowy setting sound lovely! Let’s hope it’s a good game! It should be high scoring, fingers crossed!
On a separate note, I’ve picked up lots of new and vintage Linea lately! I’m a completely new size now so I needed to stock up on old favorites (if I can find them!) and try some new things. I’m finding new and vintage jewelry too….. Ladies, the Coquette Necklace and Earring set is a surprising sleeper….it goes with so many things!
Louis, your posts and pictures from the Linea archives 2000-2020 are so wonderful! Thank you!
I’m getting my first Covid vaccine tomorrow. I hope everyone is able to get their vaccine soon!
Sending love from California, Diana (Ms49r)
Dear Diana….I’m still not old enough here in CT to make the 75 year old cut!!! You would think in one of the riches states they would have enough vaccine to at least bring the age requirement down to 65 like out neighboring state NJ. I have friends who have gone to Florida just to be vaccinated! It’s a crazy system…or no system at all!
Dear Louis,
Not that it really matters BUT I made the 65 year old cut here in California. They started vaccinating over age 65 about 2 weeks ago. And I laughed out loud when I read your GO BUCS!!!! post. OMG, tell us how you really feel!! HA! I’m an extremely passionate football fan myself and I understand how deep these football feeling go! As for me, I’m rooting for the Chiefs!
Diana, I’m actually OK with whoever wins, but when I heard that Belichick said the Patriots won all those super bowls because of him! I though what sweet revenge it would be if Brady won. Brady did answer him by saying……”well look where I am and look where you are”…or something like that….I guess that didn’t part as friends.
Louis,
Interesting about Belichick and Brady, I hadn’t heard that. They were together for 20 seasons. What a crass comment from Belichick.
I have a lot of respect for the current Bucs defense. Devin White is a beast. I had him on my fantasy team and he earned me lots of points.
Bring on the game!
Have fun, Louis! Your spread sounds perfect for the football game!
It’s snowing heavy in central New Jersey since 8:30AM. Sending some your way as it’s very lovely picture perfect snowfall and beautiful to watch through the window. We may take in some of the kitten and puppy bowls before the big game, just for the cuteness factor. Enjoy your day, the festive food goodies, and enjoying the snow!
Sheri….it’s snowing heavy here in CT too. I can’t believe how high it’s piled up already in such a short time…but it’s BEAUTIFUL…..much nicer than the last storm. There is literally no wind, and here on the water that’s unusual. Every branch of every tree and bush is covered in beautiful snow…..It really is like a winter wonderland….For sure I will go out and take pictures! Jac would have LOVED this snow fall!
Louis…Sounds like a fun day to me! Sometimes I do miss a snow day, to hunker down with good food, the fireplace, and aomething good to watch on TV. We will be in the mid-70’s today in central AZ. But we will have fun in our own way. Enjoy!
Sounds perfect! Your Super Bowl Spread is much more sophisticated than mine. Do you have snow there>
Andrea….YES, YES, YES….it’s just beautiful. The sky and the water are both a pale silvery grey because of the clouds and falling snow. You can’t see where one ends and the other begins. The snow is really piling up because there is little to no wind to blow it away….every single tiny branch is covered like a spiderweb of snow. These are the prettiest snow falls.
