……………………For October 10 PM Style there was a Roma Ponte knit tunic and a novelty cardigan……The cardigan was in a rayon/nylon jersey knit [WK]. It had ribbed starts at the cuffs, the hem and the placket fronts. There was a row of black round beads that bordered the placket….From the placket there was a band of shirred georgette, and on top of the georgette, close to the placket was a 1/2 inch black velvet ribbon. The georgette had a raw frayed edge to give the cardigan an edgier more modern , yet vintage look. The cardigan came in Pink, Ivory and Black…….The Roma Ponte tunic had a open stand collar and a button front. It had 3/4 sleeves and slant easy entrance pockets……It came in Loden, Magenta and Sweet Potato. The beautiful faux horn buttons were dyed to match. I didn’t have any shows for Oct….just outside “hits” as they were called. These were appearances on generic multi vendor shows…like PM Style.

I think around this time, QVC was doing Pop Ups in New York during fashion week and piggy backing on
the hype of those shows. There were new designers like Pamela Dennis, Marc Brouwer and Bradley Bayou sp? To name a few. Not that these weren’t wonderful
Designers, they were, and still are, but they didn’t last,
for some reason. That a designer can last on QVC for
20 years says a great deal about his integrity, talent and tenacity!
What a unique, chic sweater. I am drawn to the black in this! You never see these high end details these days.
Hi, Louis! I still have this beautiful cardigan in Perfectly Pink and my only wish is that it was a size larger!! HaHa!! It is still stunning all these years later. I am also fortunate to have the Roma Ponte jackets in Magenta and Sweet Potato. I remember the on-air presentation where you mixed turtlenecks in unexpected colors with each jacket. I think that was my first time truly stepping out of my fashion comfort zone! I played with the colors as you showed, and found a beautiful scarf that incorporated the colors to tie the whole outfit together. Boy, did I think I had arrived!!!! I thank you for giving me ‘the push’ I needed to branch out!
rae, you had arrived! It only takes the first time to try something you would have never tried or thought of before. It opens the flood gates to new possibilities. That’s when dressing become fun and exciting!
