So beautiful and perfectly maintained! You have such an fabulous location there on the water! I heard, or read, somewhere once that the water appears blue, or more blue, when the skies are blue because it is a reflection of the sky. Never having lived by the water, I could not say I have had the chance to really observe that. There have been times I thought of it when I was looking at water that did not look blue to me despite there being a blue sky. I suspect it is variable. But then, often there are trees near water and perhaps some of the green looking water could be a reflection of that?
That is absolutely true. The water reflects the blue sky, but the water in the summer doesn’t look grey even on cloudy days. When the sun rises and the sky is bright pink, coral and peach….the water reflects those colors, but on a blue background. I don’t know the answer, but it’s just beautiful.
WOW!!!
Follow the yellow brick road….
What’s the little White House on the other side of the
Fence ; can I rent that this summer?
Beautiful, I don’t know how you get them so perfectly
Blooming every time!!!
I think you are referring to my neighbors carriage house. On the second floor there is a 2 bedroom apartment. It’s very cute but needs a lot of work. My trainer, George, wanted to rent it and fix it up, but they said no.
It looks adorable. I think the water color might be effected by the angle of the sun, too. Since the sun casts a yellow light , mixing it with blue of the sea would
Give a more green cast, especially when it’s higher in the sky. When it’s at a lower angle, as it is now you see less of the
Green and more blue, which is probably the color it is in the first place. I didn’t know other people wondered about this. One of the most beautiful motion pictures I’ve seen is “Gravity” and the beautiful colors the earth
Appears to look from space—the blue planet ! Louis
Your Daffodils are just amazing! You should be very proud.
I am sure that is all true. In the spring/summer the sky is bluer and this does reflect on the water…..Today the skys are cloudy abd grey and so is the water! It’s all one color…so the color of the sky plays a big part in the color of the water.
Beautiful, Louis. The flowers, the blue water, the sun shining and the birds chirping. Spring has arrived! Thank you for sharing it with us.
You’re garden inspired me to plant violas this year. Simply lovely!
“For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.”
Stanza 4 of Wordsworth’s “The Daffodils”
Shay, thank you for sharing this beautiful stanza from Wordsworth’s poem. it’s been years since I’ve read it, but you inspired me to pull out my book of Wordsworth’s poems and read it (and enjoy it) again.
☺️
It’s not only beautiful, but so true.
Absolutely gorgeous Louis!
Thank you so much for sharing!
Enjoy this beautiful spring day!🌼
