…………………….The January, February group of clothes was all about CLASSIC SEPARATES……To the left cream and navy sweaters over a navy pencil gaberdine skirt, and a classic gaberdine trouser in bamboo. To the right the beautiful linen tweed windowpane blazer in navy and ivory is worn over a ivory silk shell and navy gaberdine trousers……..When the fabrics a designer chooses are the best quality in the world, and the designs are classic….a date can never be assigned to them. What here wouldn’t look perfect today…..30 years later? Are they revolutionary clothes? Absolutely not, but that’s what makes them as relevant today, and as modern today as they were when I did them so many years ago.

I have so many of your clothes and was looking forward to more. So sad/mad that you will not be at QVC but glad to know I can see how you are here. I used to be a constant QVC watcher and shopper. Not any more….I look at your posts for inspiration and hope to find some gently used Items of yours online. I am in the process of losing weight and glad I bought 2 sizes in several items so I will have Linea for a few more years ❤️
Dear Louis,
Although I am rarely brief in conversation, the sentiment is better simply put: you are missed more than you may ever know. Not a day goes by when I don’t think of you in some manner. You have touched so many people in a plethora of ways. Please know you are appreciated.
It all is very sad. There is nothing more tasteful and elegant than well fitted designer clothes In designer fabrics to make a woman look and feel her best day in day out, year in and year out. It shows the woman respects, values and appreciates her own self worth and elicits the same from others. I can’t thank you enough for my closets filled with your designs, Louis. All different styles and varieties for each season so there are always new “forgotten “ ones when the seasons change and the “new” ones come out. I can just shop my closet with joy and pleasure never even thinking about “ the lackluster stable QVC (and others) offerings”. Thank you again and know how much your work is appreciated and valued!
I second Bernadette’s perfectly expressed sentiments. Not one designer on QVC comes close to your talent and aesthetic. What a crime against good taste that you were removed while other philistines remain hawking their mediocre work. It makes no sense in the world of reason and beauty.
Dear Goldie, your words may be music to QVC’s ears……I think that’s what they want mediocre middle America. They don’t want high style, at least for QVC. It’s too limited. The irony is the reason they wanted me was to bring style to an extremely lack luster QVC stable. Now that’s the reason I’m gone……too much style for too limited an audience.
Louis I have to say, this is more true now than ever!!! Since your departure, I have noticed that nearly every vendor is pretty much THE SAME. There’s very little creativity across the board. Even vendors that previously had “collections” are now being pressured to just create random “stuff” and right now that’s basically loungewear. I love my loungewear, but wow is it boring when every vendor has the same lineup day after day. The same colors, same shapes, same pieces and nothing interesting. It’s a pretty crazy thing to watch so you are 100% spot on with your assessment! I’ve learned so much about what goes on behind the scenes here. It helps me make sense of the craziness I’m watching. So grateful for your blog, thank you.
I don’t know Louis. There was an awful lot of scratching, biting and snatching to say the audience
Was “limited”, not to mention the wait lists, complaints about quick sell outs and not enough inventory. I think you’re right, you just can’t take the KMART out of QVC.
They only feel comfortable with things they can mass produce, like mops.
😍😍😍. I absolutely love these clothes. QVC is quite the fool!!! I’m sad each day that Linea is gone BUT sooo grateful my closet is filled with your designs. 🤗🤗🤗. You are a true blessing with awesome gifts from God. Thank you Louis.
Hugs,
Bernadette
