……………Here is one more picture of Jac and Carol Brant in Bill Blass. I would assume this was taken at a rehearsal because of the chairs, but maybe not. Carol looks like she has seen the ghost of Marie Antoinette! The way it was staged was the two came out onto the stage [they opened the Bill Blass segment]……Jac was supposed to be the snooty one, and walked away from Carol who then left the stage as Jac walked to center stage, took a pose and the with a hand gesture brought the rest of the models on and then left. She looks like a baby…..she was! It was at this show, back stage, when the models were sitting at make up tables that one of the other models, Suzy Pelland, saw Jac without any make up and yell out loud “you’re a baby” to Jac’s embarrassment. Without make up she looked twelve.

“ Battle at Versailles “. What an incredible story of
American ascension into fashion front and center.
How awesome , it was preordained that these Designers and
Models could just let themselves go amid all the
Chaos and shine for all of Paris, and be regaled
By Royalty. Absolutely ASTOUNDING!!!!! Saw the video on my cell phone today. Going to save it.
Oh how beautiful Jac looks! Love the fur lining at the hem. I can imagine that Jac was embarrassed to be called a baby, how rude. She seems to be the type who would have side stepped the cat fights and girls who were worried about competition and were less than friendly.
Jac certainly packed a lot of living into her all too short life. So glad Bill Blass stepped in to help protect her. It must have been a crazy world for a 17 year old girl!
Her mother was her main protector, and being a model herself she knew the pit falls of the business. Some aspects never changed.
love these young and so lovely pictures of Jac!!!!!!!
Louis, Love reading all of your stories! I still check your Blog every morning.
