…………………………All of the silhouettes of the collection….the elongated jacket, the classic length jacket, and the short jacket were represented in the Ribbon Tweed Hounds Tooth check. A variety of pencil skirts were available including the matching Hounds Tooth check and the newer zip front version to go with all of the zip front jackets. It’s shown here with the shortest zip front jacket on the collection…….A new version of the stick pin….this time with two flat round discs at each end is on the short jacket. The Lace-Up front Spectator sling back pump was perfect with these checks and so many other pieces of the collection.

Wow. I’ll bet your ears pricked up when you found THAT fabric!
Actually the fabric didn’t exist. I told the French mill I wanted a large Hounds Tooth Check and they made trials for me in different yarns. A few of the swatches they sent me had this ribbon mixed with itself or other yarns. I loved this version and ordered sample yardage of….about 50 yard to make the samples in.
Love these jackets, Louis. Silk ribbon weaved through sounds dreamy! The shoes are so cute too.
Louis, I have never heard of “ribbon tweed before. If you have a moment, could you explain what it means?
CGee, an actual silk ribbon, approx. 1/8th to 2/8ths inch wide, is used in combination with a very fine yarn, and woven on a hand loom to create the hounds tooth pattern. Tissage de Charme used this novelty yarn in a variety of ways mixing it with other fancy yarns to create beautiful fabrics.
