…………………………His COMPOSITION, his COLOR, his LINE, and his ability to capture the ESSENCE of a garment was unsurpassed! He was able to illustrate a garment in motion as if they came to life on the page. He was simply a genius, and the likes of his talent will never be seen again. After his death he left behind a treasure of works for us to enjoy over and over again. It was my pleasure to meet this brilliant, quiet man.

OMG Louis! I hope you counted him among your closest of friends. What amazing talent to bring life
to your gorgeous designs. I humbly have only one
little name to add to this memorial, Erte! But, of course,
Erte was of a different era. But, he would belong here wouldn’t he? What a blessing to look back on such incredible art and to enjoy it. I love art history all the way back to the Sumerian’s LOL.
Dear Cela…..he was much older than me and we really didn’t have mutual friends. It was a professional mutual admiration relationship……As for Erte….he was Russian and French and was born in the late 1800s and died in 1991 I think he was 97 years old. He was a great illustrator, and I own one of his original sketches, but he was also a fashion designer, a costume designer and a set designer. He was in a league of his own.
