“THE FEATHER JERSEY “T” SHIRT”

The FEATHER JERSEY T SHIRT is A233959, The style is simple…..RELAXED, FLUID, BREEZY and COMFORTABLE! It has a ballet neck and a DOLMAN or BAT WING sleeve. There are two side slits. To say that this is a multi purpose top, is an understatement! The fabric can be dressy and very appropriate for the office or evenings out……………or very casual with a legging, Capri pants or simply worn over a bathing suit. It is like wearing NOTHING. For those who say POLYESTER IS HOT…………..THEY haven’t worn THIS!!! It is truly LIGHT as a “FEATHER”! This type of style truly has no BUST measurement. The only measurement you need to be concerned with is the hip. I know some of you will want to size down. For me, that is defeating the purpose of this LANGUID DRAPY top……………….but if you must…..only one size PLEASE! ….and double check the hip measurement! Wear it BELTED or loose, depending on the look you are going for. Accessorize to the hilt or absolutely nothing…. for a pure clean relaxed sportswear attitude. The colors above are……………..LIME…………OLIVE…………………The lime is very close to the LIME WK. The Olive really should have been given a different name because it is not the same color as the olive FJ pant and short sleeve FJ V-neck tunic……so they will NOT match. In the photos above, I have paired the lime with the OLIVE FJ pull-on short skirt A233969, white linen “vintage” shorts, and my white legging. There are a zillion colors and prints that the lime will work with….including the new IKAT PRINT SKIRT. The OLIVE is paired with the matching OLIVE pull-on skirt for the two piece dress look…….it is also paired with theย  HEMP pull-on skirt……for that wonderful natural SAFARI LOOK……….complete the look with the new TORTOISE NECKLACES which WILL be avail on the May 14th too. The olive also works with the Ikat print skirt. I know you have many many things hanging in your closets right now that will work with these COLLECTIBLE “T” SHIRTS. What more can I say……..when the weather becomes hot and sticky….these will be the “Ts” you will be reaching for………..cool, loose and comfortable……………………………………scroll down for the additional colors……………………………………………….enjoy……….much Love, Louis

Oh, Louis! These are fabulous! I love relaxed, drapey, cool things in the heat/humidity of the summer. I have the maxi and love the fabric, so I know these will be perfect. I bought all colors in the dolman tee and am looking forward to the hemp pieces.
I hope the feather jersey does very well and allows you to bring in black, navy, dark brown, etc.
Thank you so much for this collection ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Judy…..I am so glad you love the fabric and believe in this group of clothes……navy IS one of the colors

      1. Judi

Great! Navy is one of my fave colors.
        Just a few words:
I hope you were not disheartened by the initial reaction to the feather jersey group, which was made much worse by the awful photos on line. Also, there was no description of the lovely fabric. As you always say, there are many types of polyester.
Obviously, noone is going to buy every item you offer. People have different needs, different body types, etc.
I have learned you are a man of integrity (as well as a master designer).
I have a feeling nobody could force you into doing anything you don’t believe in! I, for one, will never doubt you.
        Thank you-
        Judi

Dear Judi….thank you for your words of support. Actually, I was taken aback a little by the immediate negative response to the Feather Jersey, especially after the success of last summers dress in the same fabric , but I knew after the dust settled word of mouth would be positive once women started getting the pieces and wearing them. I am also surprised how so many think QVC is twisting my arm MAKING me do and use fabrics I don’t like…….that is soooooo far from the truth. I do what I want….if they don’t like it, they don’t have to buy it, but what they do buy has been presented to them by ME. I am also surprised that some are still saying the fabrics are not as good as they used to be…..I think they have gotten better. Yes there are fabrics I can’t use anymore because jackets in the old boucle would no be close to $180, and I could never sell the quantity I would need to of a jacket that costs that much. There will always be varying opinions on whether someone likes a fabric or not, and that’s to be expected…..case in point the “floral tiered dresses”, or the narrow uneven stripe fabric that I used in the mitered top and skirt…….some loved it…..some hated it, but I can say that neither one was inexpensive or cheap quality. Anyone that knows anything about knitted irregular yarn dyed yarns knows they are not cheap. I have to say….being the head designer at Anne Klein for all of those years was like living in the proverbial Ivory Tower…..only concentrating on the 1% of the population that could afford the clothes, and only dressing women from size 2 to 12. Designing for QVC has been an education…..a good one, and a more satisfying creative experience….it is a challenge. All I can say is going forward with next fall……”you” and I mean everyone who has asked for better and better….. had better watch what you wish for.. LOL…….80% 0f the fabrics are more expensive and the quality is incredible……but I meander…………Judi thank you again for the supportive words

            Dear Louis,

I have to thank Judi for saying what so many of us feel about the recent QVC blog postings about the new feather jersey items. Unfortunately, there are always some naysayers who “speak” without knowing the facts. Your descriptions and explanations are always so thoughtful and informative and we truly appreciate them. I’m eagerly awaiting the delivery of my kimono jacket and still deciding on whether to size down on the dolman t-shirt. Love the colors! Many thanks for all that you do.

            Jane

Dear Jane…..as long as the hip measurement is OK for you ….you can go down a size but not more, or you will loose the effect of the drape. What size do you normally take? With these types of tops….the dolmen and bat wing variety, there really isn’t a bust measurement. To give one can be misleading, because of course, it is going to be BIG, due to the fact that measurement goes into the sleeve! I don’t think you can go wrong either way….if it’s a little big that’s OK too………you WANT it loose and easy…………………………I am a strong believer that women have a mind of their own and can NOT be led like sheep just because of a few comments made by women who have NEVER worn anything in the Feather Jersey. If they had, they would never have made negative comments…..They are STILL of the mind that all polyester fabrics are the same. For myself, all I wear at home and to the gym in are my Nike’s polyester Ts, They remind me a lot of the Feather Jersey. They are the same weight but with a smooth finish. I have a walk in closet filled with LaCoste shirts, but when it gets really hot and humid these 100% cotton shirts are HOT to wear, whereas my poly Ts are very cool and comfortable. There are a zillion qualities of polyester. They are not the old spongy types of yore, and to lump all polyester fabrics into one is not only a disservice to the fiber, but shows a lack of knowledge about the advances of the fiber and it’s characteristics. As I have said before polyester is like a cameleon. It can be a heavy coating or tweed, a light as air chiffon……or a FEATHER JERSEY! I am sure you will love the new pieces.

Ditto what Jane said… thoughtful and informative descriptions… from the Fabric Master himself!

I am loving all the styles and colors and look forward to seeing more of them. I was able to snag your leggings in two colors today to go with the hooded tunic and the pocket detail tunic. For another 2-piece dress look (aside from pairing with the short skirt), does the olive T shirt match the olive maxi skirt A233970? And I might as well ask if the pocket detail tunic in olive matches the olive short skirt A233969 or is it a match to the FJ olive pant? Jeez, this can get confusing but I’ll make a note of it to be sure I order the right pieces when they become available. Thank you, Louis, for mentioning it upfront!

I didn’t think I could wear the nectarine because my coloring doesn’t work with peach tones, but now that I’ve seen your photos, my goodness, with the right necklace I think I can make this work. Lovely colors. Perfect for summer work and casual, in the office and on vacation. Thank you for designing this wonderful versatile collection for us.

And by “right necklace” I mean your faux tortoise shell one coming May 14 and the fish pendant which I already have! ๐Ÿ˜€

      Dear Julia
You’re very welcome…..I hope most are pleased with it…..I love the fabric and I WANTED to do this group……..I was not coerced in any way to do this, as some may think…….It was my idea all the way and my buyer thought it was a terrific group to do OLO. I’m glad you like it.

  4. Irma

I agree. Based on these pictures, I ran and ordered the olive and the apricot. Can’t wait for the skirts to become available.

Will there be matching pants for the hemp colored items? Also, on the lime – you said this would go with the ikat skirt? Will the olive go with the olive ikat?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Irma…………..YES to the HEMP pant and Yes the olive T does go with the “olive” Ikat , which is actually called “purple”…to avoid confusion for others.

  5. Sharon Santourian Holman

Oh Louis, these look fabulous!!! I think I will be getting all the colors! LOL. Chicago Summers can be brutal, these look perfect as well as for the office.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio
