“AN ELEPHANT SWIM”

On our late afternoon cruise we were very lucky to see a group of elephants including a tiny baby that just SWAM ACROSS THE LINYANTI RIVER! It amazes me how many elephants are killed every year by poachers, even though they can be shot dead for doing it. The little elephant was pushed along by a teenager, maybe a sister. They were also protecting it from crocs. Peter told us on rare occasions a croc will bite off part of a baby elephants trunk if it's alone in the water……This was a great surprise and was the highlight of this boat trip!

……………..On our boat ride with Peter and See we were lucky enough to see a group of elephants swim across the WIDE LINYANTI RIVER! With them was a tiny baby. I don’t know how this little adorable thing could swim across this river. It did have a teenage elephant, maybe a sister, pushing it along, and it was always between this elephant and the others for protection. Peter told us on rare occasions a croc will bite off part of a baby elephants trunk!!! I find it horrendous that poaches are still killing huge amounts of elephants yearly even though they know they could be shot to death if caught………but on this trip they all made it across safely, and off they went on their merry way…..baby and all!

Oh Louis, thank you for all the. Ideas and stories about your safari! I feel like I am going on one from my chair! I love this video of the elephants swimming. Why can’t the baby just crawl onto his mom’s back for a ride, ha ha. Poor little thing must have been exhausted.

I am also so very excited to hear about your designing the Italian jewelry! What a lovely surprise for us ladies. I was just thinking the other day, when I was wearing the star pendant necklace, what high quality pieces the Italian group were. I was wearing the gold with a v neck ivory whisper knit sweater and it was such a pretty combination. I missed out on the earrings as my order didn’t arrive and then they were sold out, so I am ordering more now!! Yay!I have the bracelet tucked away for a niece’s graduation and I am giving her the star pendant for her birthday at the end of the month. I am very much looking forward to your new jewelry.

Well off to decorate the house for autumn (I am a bit late) and then a drive to our youngest son’s soccer game. I hope you are enjoying this beautiful autumn, my favorite season! Love and hugs!

Karen, the weather here is spectacular. After a few days of clouds and rain it has cleared away, and the rest of the week is supposed to be sunny and warm. I plan to take advantage of it and sit outside by the water. I decided I wasn’t going to decorate the outside of the house with pumpkins and such. Firstly, they aren’t out there two days when the squirrels attach them making a mess. Then my girls go out and EAT what the squirrels leave behind until they return to eat more. I don’t want the girls to eat what was in the squirrels mouths. Secondly, my house is far from the road and no one can see how I decorate except the mailman! So no pumpkins for me. I don’t like those baskets of mums either. They bloom, last a week and then look bad….I am so happy you were able to get the Anniversary earrings. They will go with many things. Your niece will be thrilled with her present…..I hope! I can’t wait for the new jewelry to start arriving, but it’s going to be a slow process as we decided to proceed with the line only recently. A few things were already started before we decide to close the business, so those pieces were already in the works.

Oh I have never heard of squirrels eating pumpkins! Your girls don’t miss a beat, do they?

I agree about the mums. I am tempted to get them every year, but then I am disappointed when they only last a week. My husband is going to cut down our corn stalks in the garden and tie them around our lamppost.

Enjoy sitting by the water! I’ll be sitting on my front porch swing enjoying the lovely colors. Hugs to you!

Thank you, thank you Louis!! I don’t know what to thank you for first but I’ll start with how much I’ve enjoyed everything about your wonderful safari from when you first started writing about it, posting you plans etc etc. I’m so happy you were able to go and see your dream full filled and of course you sharing everything with us so we can enjoy too. I also want to thank you for continuing with the Italian manufacturers and that jewelry line, what a happy surprise. I have the beautiful anniversary bracelet etc as well as the pave star pendant and ring. I also ordered the pave star bracelet. Apparently it was shipped but there has never been any tracking information so they finally refunded my payment and reordered it. It showed in stock for the large. However, a few days later they changed and said it has been back ordered and then a bit later said it was out of stock. Needless to say, that was a big disappointment as I have enjoyed those beautiful pieces so much and receive so many compliments about them when I wear them. The design and quality is unmistakable!!! Thank you, thank you!!!
