Jac and I want to wish you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving! This is a topsy turvy world…we all need a peaceful day to count our blessings. We will be having our traditional Thanksgiving dinner of Rock Cornish hens stuffed with wild rice, roasted root vegetables, my famous roasted potatoes, and apple pie with vanilla ice cream and ginger cookies. Jac is a great cook and….I’m a great eater! Annie and Lili are busy chasing squirrels, with Lili…at 5 months…..is the leader!
Have a blessed Holiday….much Love Louis, Jac, Annie and Lili
Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Louis, Jac, Annie and Lili,
I’m so glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. My two daughters, Claire and Molly were home from college, so that was a whirlwind. On Wednesday, my daughter Claire, my sister Shelby, her two sons Sam and Graham (plus new girlfriend) and a great friend Mary Welby and I went on our annual hike to a place called Humpback Rocks in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. A gorgeous day!
Later Wednesday night, I gave Shelby the plush wool jacket in the spice color that I had been saving for Christmas. The spice color is just too perfect for Thanksgiving! Barbara from Virginia recommended it. We figured out on one of the forum threads that Shelby is a priest in Barbara’s church! LOL. Shelby loved the jacket and wore it Thanksgiving morning.
Love to you all,
Celia
Wore the aubergine Whisper knit tneck with aubergine embroidered kimono sleeve sweater for our Thanksgiving dinner. It has just enough stretch to accommodate seconds on dessert! (pumpkin cheesecake AND apple pie! Happy Turkey leftovers to the Dell”Olio family and all the Linea Ladies.
A happy Thanksgiving to you and Jac today.
My parents and my brother came over for a turkey breast, candied yams, roasted zucchini/eggplant and peppers, cranberry sauce, cornbread sausage stuffing, vegetable gravy and for the opening course– pumpkin soup!
For dessert I made a pumpkin pecan rum cake and my parents brought over a pumpkin pie and a chocolate and whipped cream pie.
I am still stuffed!!
Every blessing to you, Jac, Annie and little Lili! Your dinner sounds delicious as I know it will be. We had ours on Sunday at our daughter’s home over the mountain as her husband just left for India for two months of research. They are both fantastic cooks and we had quite the feast: assorted cheeses and olives, turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and squash, carrot souffle, petit pois with onions, green salad, gravy and cranberry relish, and pumpkin and Old Grumpy’s famous peanut butter pie for dessert. There was plenty for us to bring home, which we will have tomorrow. Our son (youngest) is at my “almost’s” family home in Illinois, and another son was at our daughter’s, so we will have a quiet Thanksgiving here this year. I am keeping very much in my thoughts and prayers my friends in Colombia, South America, who have been dealing with flood for several months now. We have so much here to be grateful for. Blessings to all! Barbara
A wonderful Thanksgiving to you and Jac. I can just picture Lili and Annie chasing the squirrel population. Scotties are a favorite of mine. Your dinner sounds delicious. Our son drove up to CT with his dad to see his sister and her family. He may be activated next year so decided this was a good time to visit. He and his dad will be deepfrying the turkey. I will be busy cleaning (a tough job with 3 dogs underfoot) and hopefully getting Christmas decorations out while they’re gone.
