……………………….In my third year, I had three designers to work with…….Chester Weinberg…………Leo Narducci…….and NORMAN NORELL……..All of the sketches above I finally rejected!!! I can’t find the final selection I made for each designer!! All of the sketches above were for Chester Weinberg except the chocolate gown which was for Norman Norell….but as it turned out these were never shown to the designer. I can’t find the sketches that were….I was 19 when I made these sketches.

Hi Sunbluesea and Louis,
Thank you for mentioning the website, what a treat!

I love seeing your Parsons sketches. I only learned about that school from watching Project Runway. Are some of these designs ones that your dear mother assisted you and Donna with the sewing?
Thanks for the education with the quick sketch term- always good to learn something new
Sarah
No these were all rejects. I can’t find my good sketches.
Very sad about Bill Robertson. I found a nice article about him on “Encyclopedia of Fashion” website.
I am sure you have seen the wonderful article about you on that same site. And yes, I am sure there were blessings over your career-but WOW!! In addition to your talent, how persistent you were and how hard you WORKED! Also, I am sure many opportunities came to you because you treated others with kindness and respect. And beautiful Jac was your partner-the fashion dream team!
Well….off to make spaghetti and meatballs for dinner
tonight (DH’s favorite). It was his special request to have dinner and a movie at home;).
If you get NetFlix I highly recommend “Holidate”
These designs are detailed and elegant and you were a teenager!!! Love your stories of Parsons. They certainly sprinkled extra amounts of their magic dust over you. Although these croquis (you expanded my vocabulary) at such a young age are proof that your talent was and is God-given.
Dear sunbluesea….my first year class started with 225 students….my graduating class had 21 students, and I have to say they were all very talented. Only 3 of us became well known. Donna Karan, myself and a wonderfully talented boy named Bill Robertson. Unfortunately, Bill passed very young from Aids after making a name for himself. He was definitely a rising star. Why so few of us became well know is a mystery to me….the luck of the draw…..being in the right place at the right time. Many had successful jobs, but none had long careers.
