We have a tree that looks much like this one in our back yard. It was one of the reasons we bought the property. The age of the tree is determined by the circumference of the trunk. Before we moved there, some kids had burned the trunk. It took years for it to heal over. During Katrina, I watched that tree sway back and forth with the wind. I was afraid it was going to uproot, but it survived.
