……………………..Cathy and Karen paid me a visit! They arrived at noon on Saturday, and I had some snacks prepared. It was a rainy bleak day so I had the fireplace already on for their arrival. We opened a bottle of Santa Margarita white wine, and spent a cozy afternoon….Cathy and I did a cookie swap….and Karen, a true animal lover, gave each of us little bird feeders!!!…….We had a 7pm reservation at a restaurant called Luganos in Old Greenwich Ct…..Of course we started with some cocktails at the bar, and then had a delicious dinner……We came back to my place and decided to watch a movie, but no one could decide what to watch…..so I made the choice…….”FUNNY FACE” with Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire and the wonderful Kay Thompson [Liza Minelli’s godmother]. Neither of them had seen it, and they didn’t even know who Kay Thompson was!!!! “THINK PINK!!!” I figured this was a safe bet….How could you go wrong with Audrey and Fred on location in PARIS!!!!!???…..I didn’t know Cathy wasn’t fond of musicals!!! Before I knew it they were both asleep and I was watching the movie by myself!!!…..We got up early and went to the ELM STREET DINER for an enormous breakfast, and then we took a drive to Westport and went to “TERRAIN” to shop around…..It’s always a fun store to browse…….Then back to my house, and they packed up the car, and off they went………Both of the girls said….”visiting me was like a vacation” That was a nice thing to hear!
