……………………I have always loved designing jewelry……Whenever I designed clothing I always thought of how the woman would look from head to toe, and jewelry was an integral part of the complete look……A TORSADE style necklace was one of my favorites…..It’s shorter length and multi strands framed the face, and enhanced many necklines…………The Torsade above was made out of COPPER COATED ACRYLIC BEADS……Why acrylic?? Acrylic beads were light weight, and when you are making a necklace with ten or more strands weight become paramount…..Above all else the necklace must be WEARABLE!…..WHY are the beads COATED IN COPPER? The beads are coated in copper first, because copper is the only metalĀ that adheres to the acrylic, and then the base copper can be recoated in any metal color such as goldĀ or silver……..The beads in this necklace were organic, smooth nuggets. It eventually came in four colors…..Shiny Silver, Matte Silver, Shiny Gold, and a multi color version…..The combination of Shiny Gold, Shiny Silver, Shiny Gunmetal, and Shiny Burnished Copper enabled the woman to wear it with many different colors and especially tweeds in these colors……I was the first to bring unusual color metals to QVC in a major way. Up until I introduced colors like GUNMETAL, BURNISHED COPPER, GREEN PATINA, and BLACK just to name a few, the only colors being used in fashion jewelry on QVC were silver and gold. I also used 18 Karat gold while the majority were using 12Karat gold…..I also introduced the MATTE versions of colors. I loved to experiment with different colors and finishes to expose women to the possibilities of creating new looks and a personal style.
