I personally love the softness, the drape and the ease that is characteristic of this FINE BOUCLE yarn. I will say, this is not for everyone, because this is not a structured garment at all. It takes someone with just the right attitude and understanding how a garment like this will preform on the body. It is languid, and very soft. I have seen many garments like this from well know designers at 4 times the price. I think this makes the perfect transition cover-up. It’s perfect for now and going into fall with the addition of the appropriate layer. I love the combination of BLACK/TOBACCO. TORTOISE. As Diana Vreeland said, ‘”style is about originality” and this is a very original look….

Hi Louise, another vote here for the tobacco pants. I purchased so many of your pieces in either that color or in the print such as the phoenix. Only missing those fabulous tobacco pants. It looks so fabulous with black – wouldn’t that be great in fall?
I have been a Linea lady for quite a few years now and this cardigan and your recent kimonos are my absolute favorites! They are those timeless and simply elegant pieces that can turn an ordinary outfit into a “head turner”. I would hope you will be able to do both of these designs again soon in other colors. Thanks, Louis.
Dear Louis,
I have this garment in both black and white – perfect for the cool summer evenings in the Napa Valley. In fact, tonight I am wearing the white to a dinner party.
Thanks for your beautiful designs,
Dariann
I third that request. Louis, everytime you use your “vintage” tobacco pants in a presentation, I’m hoping that you’ll bring it back. Your tortoise jewelty makes it essential now. I love, love, love the black/tobacco combo for fall. It’s so rich! Please, please, please! With love from your Orlando “groupie”!
I agree that this cardigan could not be found in another designer’s line for less than 3-4 times your price, or more. I love the unstructured look and attitude of this piece. Also just love the tortoise pieces. I would love to see this set done in classic black & white!
We need tobacco pants – any chance some are coming for this fall? Pebble crepe would be a wonderful transition material 😉
Louis,
I second the request for tobacco pants (in fact, I’ve asked you several times about bringing them back!). I know you’ve said the color didn’t do well the first time around, but I think now that we have more coordinating pieces they would be well received. I wouldn’t care for them in pebble crepe but would love them, in say, the same faux hopsack linen as the recent black and bamboo pants — I think that color would look great with that texture.
In whatever fabric, would LOVE tobacco pants or crops!
Jane
Me too, but I’d like the latest FJ pants in any shade of brown, but that tobacco is great! The hopsack linen pants are wonderful, you have to do more of them.
Also putting in a request for tobacco pants, I have the walnut FJ pants and they are taking up the slack that the tobacco ones would (if they were available). Ponte knit, pebble crepe or even in FJ would be great.
OMG – in that wonderful ponte knit, pants or the drawstring skirt A233183.
Forgot to mention that I love this cardi.
