“THE GARDEN IN TRANSITION CON’T”

……………………..This was a great year for my Rhododendron bushes……They were so lush you could hardly see the leaves…..However, their time has come and gone and they are quickly fading……..In their place are the Hydrangeas. They are just starting to have small blooms, but they are still mostly budding [photos upper left]. The photos in the middle bottom of the fuchsia and white flowers [don’t know their name] are spreading like wildfire. It’s a good thing I love them…..It’s always fun to plan which flowers to put together in which posts. I try to mix them so no two pots are the same…..they are all different, and the eye can move from one to the other…..like dancing!

Your garden is lovely. We have started to grow more in pots my husband finds it so much easier to maintain and keep up the watering. Though he wasn’t happy to bring home the heavy pottery pots from the garden center.

    Hi Louis!

I check your blog daily and enjoy your pictures and stories–such a great way to start the day!

I love flowers and always look forward to your garden updates. I noticed the small white and fuchsia flowers right away–I used to have them in my garden in Oregon, and you are right, they spread like crazy. They are known by a few different names: Silene coronaria, Mullien Pink, Rose Campion, Lychnis coronaria. They are beautiful and add a lot to the garden with their silvery, upright foliage and pretty little flower.
Thanks again for sharing your garden, and I look forward to your summer pictures!!
