…………………Four days ago Franco found two baby deer by the side of my garage. He said they were just born within hours, because they couldn’t walk yet. When I went to look a day later….they were gone…….Today I saw one of the fawns near my lion sculpture. It keep darting in and out of the hedges. Then the mamma leaped over the fence from my neighbors house, and scooted the little fawn back into the bushes. It won’t be long before this little one starts to leap over the fences too!…….I don’t know where the second fawn is????
Beautiful! Mother deer is paying you a big compliment, choosing your garden as a safe place. The mother hides the fawns so she can go and eat, then returns to feed them. If you got another Scottie or two the deer would not come back. My calm dogs scared the deer out of the garden, until they passed, then it became a fawn sanctuary several times. If they do return as adults you can spray Liquid Fence regularly on your roses, lilies, and the shoots of woody plants.
