Hi, Louis. You have often mentioned that short sleeves can look matronly. What is the proper length? I have the Black and the Purple Sequined dresses and since I am only 5’4″ and have short arms as well, I need to have the sleeves shortened—but where should they fall? Thanks, Louis, for all you do for us—the clothes, the jewelry, the advice—what would we do without you?

Dear Sheesh, it’s not so much the length of the sleeve as the fit. Baggy or loose sleeves tend to look matronly. A close fitting sleeve is always younger.
