……………The year was 1982 or 83. I had hired Author Elgort. one of America’s premiere photographers, to shoot the fall campaign…….Arthur loved to come to the show room before the shoot to discuss the model and the clothes being chosen. Arthur certainly had his favorite models and always had his pulse on whoever was new and hot…….On this day he asked if Jac could put on the outfits with all of the accessories so he could take some candid pictures. He liked to refer to them so he could come up with ideas and a vision for what he wanted to accomplish. I realized early on working with Arthur you gave him cart blanch to do what he wanted. This way you always got the best of Arthur…….So Jac, under Arthur’s directed, posed for him in our showroom……For one photo he asked me to stand behind Jac with my arms folded, and he snapped away…….I LOVED these black and white photos and always felt they could have been the National Ads…….I actually liked them better than the final ads, but everyone else loved the new color photos Author took so we went with them……It turned out to be a beautiful campaign. I worked with Arthur many times, and it was always a great experience.
