……………………..Jac and her older sister Marianne…..As children they were always together….Jac adored her older sister…….From 16 on Jac traveled a lot and eventually at 20 got her own apartment in NYC….I was just easier for work than commuting back and forth from Larchmont, NY……Marianne had many jobs. She speaks five languages fluently and became a translator at the UN where her father worked, but found it very boring. She was even a flight attendant for a short while, but thought it was a glorified waitress, and quit. She even worked in a hospital helping foreign speaking pregnant women navigate their stay…….She finally found her dream job with Este Lauder, and was their world wide representative traveling all over the world giving seminars and training the staffs on the newest products for many years….She did this until she married and retired to Mass with her husband. Horses were and are her passion and she competed in jumping….She doesn’t compete anymore, but still owns two horses…..Marianne is an or 11 year [or more] lung cancer survivor. It was rare that two sisters had lung cancer even thought their types of cancers were totally different…..They were both treated by Dr. Shaw at Mass General…..and were both given medications, though different, that Dr. Shaw developed……Marianne is still taking hers, and is cancer free…..Marianne is the last survivor of her family. Her father’s family were all killed in Belgium during WW11…..We keep in touch, and let each other know how we are doing…..that’s what Jac would have wanted.
Wonderful photos and story Louis. Both Jac and Marianne have had interesting lives.
God Bless Marianne that she is doing well. My Mom was a 14 yr survivor of Lung Ca many years ago when it wasn’t expected, we were very blessed.
Jac and you are always remembered,
Elaine
