News Update

Dear Friends,
OKAY…..I need to share some personal news…not the very best kind!!  Last Monday I tripped and fell bringing fire wood into the house. To make a long story short… necessary  since I have to type with my left hand !!…. I am being operated on this Friday morning at 9:00am. I broke off a corner of the bone socket that holds the ball into place…so it must be repaired. The good news is, as of now, I have no pain. The doctor said the first 3 days after the operation will be the worst…then, I should start to feel a lot better….Let’s all hope so! I will be okay for the 24th of March, but I will be in a sling….again!! If you have questions ask them before Friday…. I will be out of commission for a few days after the procedure.  I will let you all know how I am feeling….or Jac will…..I have an excellent sports surgeon who works for the NFL……..He is one of the best!….much love, Louis

    Dear Louis,

So sorry to hear of your misfortunate accident. I have already said a prayer to our Father for your surgery on Friday. I will be thinking of you that day as my husband is having surgery at 8:30 that morning. His is Same Day Surgery so I am concerned that you have received the worst. I pray for a smooth and quick healing, as painless as possible and pray that Jac will do well as you go through this and recuperate.

We love you and look forward to seeing you on the 24th ! We won’t even notice the sling because we will be so excited to see you back with your latest creations !

Take care and mind your doctors ! (And Jac, too!)

Louis, I’m sending healing wishes your way. When you go into surgery on Friday, you’ll have all of the Linea ladies with you in spirit. Take it easy as you recuperate and let Jac coddle you. You have an important date on the 24th!

    Dear Louis,
So very sorry to hear about your fall. I’ve had quite a few of them myself in recent years– all dog-related! I shattered my arm, falling while stepping over a “baby gate” we had set up to keep the blind dog from going up stairs when he was a puppy, before we realized that blind or not he could race up and down stairs. Then I broke my leg when I took the Shepherd-coonhoud big boy out for business on a snowy and icy day and he pulled on the leash, sending me down for the count.

I thought when we “downsized” recently to a 17 pounder, Sammy, that my falling days were over. But a week ago, the little guy saw a neighbor he wanted to greet –he is Mr. Sociable– and jerked his leash, and me, and my foot hit a mini-pothole in the road. I broke a tooth and got bruised a bit!

Are you sure that Annie or Lilibet were not underfoot? Of course, the new Sammy is not there yet so she escapes blame!

Sorry for your hurt, get well, and of course be healthy and happy for your upcoming shows. We are all salivating over the new Linea things.– Blinddogs

Here is something to cheer you up a bit. Your 5 new items presented in late February are already customer top rated!

  13. Somersault

Louis, how awful! I am sure you could do a quick sketch for a very, very stylish sling not one of those horrid ones with velco that you have to pay for on top of it all! Glad you are not experiencing any pain and with all those lovely meds, it will be awhile before you do. I do not envy you your therapy and your frustration in not being able to sketch but first things first which is your road to recovery. I must say you have given up the ultimate for Lent! You will be in my prayers.

  14. Susan

    Louis,
I will be thinking of you and praying for you at 9 a.m. this Friday. It sounds like you have a great doctor and for this I am very thankful! I am sure your lovely wife will take good care of you and get you on the mend in no time. I think you are a wonderful person and I wish you all the best and for a speedy recovery. The other Linea ladies are right – the PT will help speed things along. Remember – rest means rust! Once you’re able and cleared to move – plunge in! One more piece of advice, and this is from my husband…Always tell your doctors and nurses jokes. They have a hard job, and a pleasant patient can really help set the tone for the day…Here’s some material for you:
“What kind of job do you do?” a lady passenger asked the man traveling in her
    compartment.
“I’m a naval surgeon,” he replied.
“Goodness!” said the lady, “How you doctors specialize these days!”

    —————————–
A man walks into a doctor’s office. He has a cucumber up his nose, a carrot in his left ear and a banana in his right ear.
“What’s the matter with me?” he asks the doctor.
The doctor replies, “You’re not eating properly.”
    ——————————-
Remember – we’ll be thinking of you and anxious to hear how you make out.

Thank you for explaining all of the items that will be debuting in the March show. I know the crepe crop pants and the poet shirt are 2 of the items that are a definite yes on my list. Boy is my cc going to be smokin’!

Again, hope you have a speedy recovery!

Louis, I am so sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery. My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. Having confidence in your surgeon helps to ease the pain. Having a wonderful and beautiful wife to take care of you is even better!! I too will be undergoing surgery this Friday. So although my thoughts will be a little foggy (morphine drip) I will be thinking of you and praying for you. We Linea ladies love you and can’t wait for you to be up and painfree very soon. ELLEN B.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Ellen,
I am so sorry to hear about your surgery this Friday! The surgeon already told me the first three days aren’t going to be fun, but I have lots of meds! LOL I’m trying to keep a sense of humor. Since I’m not in any pain at all, it’s easier to have one…..after Friday well see. Take care of yourself! much love your way, Louis

  21. Carol

Good luck on your surgery and prayers for a speedy recovery.

  22. Tristan AKA Celia

    Dear Louis,

I am so sorry to hear about your shoulder! How painful it must have been. I can’t wait until this long winter is over. Hopefully when you are finished with the surgery, you will be on your way to a speedy recovery, but in the meantime, let yourself be taken care of and get lots of rest before Friday.

    Love,
    Celia

  23. Claudia (chprsp)

Best of luck with the surgery, Louis. What a treacherous winter it’s been. I’m sure all of us Linea Ladies will be thinking of you Friday. We’ll be looking forward to an update from Jac. It sounds like you will be one of the first surgeries of the day so that’s good.

I wore the black anorak the other day with your turtleneck and the Roma ponte pants. I love it. I was doubtful about ordering it but decided if you said it was wonderful it had to be.

  24. Judy S.

Louis, best of luck with the surgery, and I hope your recovery is swift. Can’t wait to see you — sling and all! — on the 24th. Best wishes to you and Jac.

    Judy

  25. Debbie M

So sorry to hear this. Maybe your next collection will be psychedelic from the pain killers! Rest up with your puppy nurses: wet noses cure all!

  29. Carol

Poor, Louis! So sorry to hear your bad news! Your Linea Ladies are all sending healing energy your way. Ice and snow–the number one reason I left Chicago for Los Angeles. I’ll take an earthquake over a blizzard any day.

  30. Sonia

Ouch! Sounds awful to me. I’ll be sending positive thoughts your way on Friday 8 a.m., my time. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  31. Ann from Maryland

    Dear Louis,

We wish you a speedy recovery!

    1. Alita

Dear Louis, like all your Ladies I am very sorry indeed. Years ago, my husband, Luis, broke his wrist slipping in the ice, while bringing the mail. So I know by experience that this is the best of times for Jac to spoil you in a miriad ways. Friday, at 8:45 I will be praying for a successful operation. You are such a truly elegant gentleman that no sling will disturb that. Let me add that your new baby is precious. By now you must have seen The King’s Speech. When you are recovered let me know if you liked it. I thought it a masterpiece. Your new offerings are more than tempting; just by their description I would like to have all of them, and each one in several colors. You are indeed an endless source of temptations. We love that. And we love you, very much.

  32. Chris/Jazzmom

Can I sent you some virtual chicken soup?? 🙂 I hope everything goes well with your upcoming surgery and that you’ll be sketching new pieces for us to enjoy soon. Take it easy now and make sure to take those drugs round the clock post surgery!! Will you be having Physical Therapy?? PT is wonderful at getting you back at the top of your game. Love to Jac and your ‘girls’.

  33. Barbara in Virginia

Oh, no! So sorry that this had to happen to you! Both you and Jac will be in my thoughts and prayers. Old Grumpy also sends you his best. Says you need a house boy to do chores like that! As always, Barbara

  34. MH-MN

Oh no! I am so sad to hear of your injury! Please get all the rest you can before your surgery, and ask your lovely bride to keep us up to date on the surgery and your recovery! Wishing you the best of care.

  35. jazz

Oh Louis–say it isn’t so–wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

  36. Rhoda (stylishmaven)

Louis, Not again! Why do such miserable things happen to such a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers will be with you through all of this. I know you were probably just trying to get out of the chore of bringing fire wood into the house, but you really didn’t have to go to such extremes! It is wonderful that you have a doctor you highly respect. Is he at the Hospital for Special Surgery? Not worry about us Linea Ladies.Constant news of you and your line in the forums have brought many newcomers. Don’t be surprised if your new line sells out at record speed.
Now enjoy your girls, and especially Jac and her delicious cooking. Isn’t Sammy supposed to be coming home soon? (What timing!) I would love to send you something to cheer you up while you are out of commission.- (How to do it?)
Just a thought. I hope this isn’t the same hand/ arm that was out of commission the last time! (I’ve had two frozen shoulder surgeries. Nothing like giving equal time to both shoulders.) (Vicodin anyone?) I will be awaiting further news about you- only good please! Rhoda
