Hello, Everyone!
Jac and I want to wish a Happy 4th of July to one and all! Our BIG plans for this evening will be to sit in our two red rocking chairs, eating ice cream and watching the fire works across the sound from all the towns along the Long Island shore. We have a wonderful open view of the Long Island sound and on the 4th of July the water is busy with boats sailing up and down the coast. Of course, the “girls” will be with us and we will see how Sammy deals with the fire work noise. Enjoy the holiday!
As I promised, here are the details of the June 13th shows that are coming up. There are 4 new items. I call these pieces “Transition”, because they are clothes that can be worn now, but can also be worn in Sept, Oct. and Nov……of course, depending on where you live or how you layer them, these can be pieces you can wear all year. The following are the style numbers and the details of each piece.
1-A216528, is the brushed cotton twill blazer. The jacket is aprox. 26 inches for the XS size. This jacket is longer than the spring/summer jackets. It has a two button front and the jacket is fully lined. There are two pocket flaps but the actual pockets are in the “SEAMS” below the flaps. Above each flap there are horizontal zippers which opens to real pockets. It has a long sleeve with three working buttons and the facing is wide enough to turn back without any lining showing. The metal half dome buttons and the zippers are all gunmetal. The colors the jacket will be avail in are Olive and Black. There are so many ways to wear these jackets that the combinations are endless. The black jacket over the “faux de chine” khaki shirt dress looks fantastic and, yes, the olives do work together. I would suggest wearing a colored tank under the dress for a hit of color. The khaki shirt dress under the black jacket with the new Aubergine tank is just plain CHIC!
2-A216529, is the matching brushed cotton crop pant. The fit of the pant was taken from the A199260, last years cotton sateen pant. They came in Tobacco and Black. The pant is side zip and the inseam on the XS is aprox. 25 1/2 inches. The brushed cotton gives the fabric a softer hand as apposed to the crispness of the cotton sateen. The olive pant not only matches the blazer, but will work with all the olive pieces you have purchased this past season. On their own, they are a great neutral to work with any color top. The black brushed cotton has a very different look from the cotton sateen. It looks great with cotton sateen tops and it perfect with all the brushed cotton jackets you may already have from Linea, such as the A83571 leopard print jacket, which will be coming in two new colors later in the season. They are also going to be great with all of the new essential whisper knit sweaters coming in Aug…..but I’ll get to those later.
3-A216531, is my new paisley print Boho. They are made exactly like the original Boho. The ground colors are Olive and Black and the two skirts look very different because of the colors used in each print…..so, if you are considering getting both colors, do not be afraid that they will look similar. There are many Linea tops that will work with these skirts and some that you may already own……some are still avail. I will be showing the A198824, Azure top with the olive skirt, and the A199856, Fuchsia top with the black skirt…..the Azure also works with the black. I will also be showing the skirt with a “Sneak Peek”!!!!Love those!.. I will be pairing the olive paisley with the new olive essential tank and cardigan in the “Whisper Knit”, which will be avail in Aug. and they are wonderful!
4-A216530, is the paisley peasant top. The colors again , are the Olive and the Black. Wear them with the crop pant, the matching paisley bohos for a 2 piece dress look, or with your solid boho skirts. They will come with their own self fabric tie belts. The neckline and sleeve cuff s are elastic, so there are multiple ways to wear the top. I would say it’s a long sleeve because it has a 5 inch circular ruffle below the elastic but, the sleeve can be pushed up to a 3/4 length. It is the perfect top to wear with multi strands of colored beads. It will be a wonderful addition to your summer and early fall wardrobes.
THE SNEAK PEEKS!
I always love, when possible, to give you an idea of some of the pieces that will be coming up in the months ahead. Hence, my “sneak peaks”!
1-A3825, is the reorder short sleeve crew neck sweater. I am not sure if some of the new colors will or will not be avail. to buy on this show, but you can wait list them. I will be showing the new Aubergine and Olive sweaters and, yes, they will work with everything that is in Olive and everything that is or will be coming in Aubergine. Later in the season we will be bring it back in two additional new colors: Fawn and Deep Plum.
The “Whisper knit” group. The sweaters will be avail in August. They are all “CORE” pieces in “CORE” colors. They are the perfect layering pieces and the perfect basic sweaters to wear on their own.
A217360, is the short sleeve mock neck
A217629, is the long sleeve V-neck…..the one that many of you have been asking for!
A217627, is the tank, which is the same shape and neckline as the fall essential tank in the berry and black.
A?, is the cardigan. I do not have the A number yet, but I will get it and substitute the ? with it. Again, the body is the same as the essential fall cardigan in berry and black. It will work over all of your whisper knit sweaters as well as many of your blouses and shirts.
I can tell you each and everyone of these sweaters is beautiful and the “Whisper Knit” is definitely a customer favorite. All styles of the sweaters will be avail. in Black, Olive, Aubergine, and Dark Mallard Blue [which is a rich teal]. I would suggest ordering in your normal Linea size. There is no need to size up or down. If you already own the essential tank and cardigan, then you know what size will work for you. IF you already own the essential fall cardigan in black …do you need the new one in black?…..I can only say………. the whisper knit is reason enough to own two black cardigans.
I will also be giving you a sneak peak of…. two of my new pants !. They are both in a new quality of poly/rayon/span. The A217972 is a slim leg pant and the A217971, is a straight leg pant. The colors are Black, Olive and Fawn which is a light camel beige. The good news is that they will both be avail. in petite lengths. In the petite lengths they will have different A#s. The regular pant will have aprox. a 32 inch inseam for size XS.
That, my friends, is what I will be having for you in July…..I hope you like the shows and enjoys how I have accessorized each outfit.
Enjoy The 4th and No playing with firecrackers!!!!!……………………….Much Love, Louis
Hello Louis!
Thank you so much for the pictures and summer fun update on you and Jac and “the girls”. You are the best!!! Question – what skirts can we wear with the new cotton twill jacket for work? My office dress code is “business casual” so I am in your outfits every day. By the way, I wore your cotton sateen cuffed crop pant and safari style jacket set in the “sand” color from last year (with my own belt), together with your new olive 3/4 sleeve medallion print stretch top in the olive color for a perfectly matched outfit. It was a big hit at the office!!!
I am so looking forward to July 13th!
Lol, SOLDOUT 🙂
Hi Soldout,
I am not sure what business casual is anymore. The bohos in black and olive match, the cotton twill pencil skirts in black and sage will work [except they have gold zippers in the back slits]the new paisley georgette bohos, and the new pants in olive and black will match. The ivory chain print with the ivory T would look good with the black or olive cotton blazer too. They will be avail both in a slim or straight leg and will be avail in petites….that’s in Aug. I really don’t have many skirts avail……..regards, Louis
Hi Louis,
I can’t wait for the v-neck sweaters – I’ll be snatching up every color and hoping you’ll bring in lots more colorways! I’m also really excited about the slim leg pant and plan to buy every color offered. Will these be on in August? I’m sooo glad you’re doing that silhouette – I much prefer a slim leg and can’t wait to own yours!
Hi Enjay,
Yes they will be avail in Aug. in black, olive and a color I call Fawn which in a beautiful tan/beige. I will also have the short sleeve jewel neck sweater and a new jacket in this color….it’s a terrific neutral……and nice to have a paler color that can be worn all year…….regards, Louis
Louis, We need some gunmetal jewelry. Do you have any plans to offer some?
Unfortunately, no….It’s a terrific idea……..Louis
The new pieces sound wonderful! Hope you, Jac, and the girls had a great Fourth. I love the ocean and could live at a beach location very well. While I like the middle Tennessee area, I feel so complete when I’m at the beach gazing out on the ocean and just relaxing and thinking. The Fourth of July also is my birthday, so I turned 39…again. I like the quote: “Age is a matter of mind, so if you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter”! The secret is thinking young and staying active. Looking forward to the next show!
Hi Louis. Anxiously awaiting your July 13 show–only one week to go! Don’t want to miss any of your shows and I’m doing August planning now. Would you please let me know the date of your August shows? Thank you!
Dear Carol,
I believe it is Aug. 28th, Sunday at 8am….one show….regards, Louis
Thanks, Louis!
OK, that’s cruel and unusual punishment for we West Coast shoppers. 5 am on a Sunday! That’s devotion. See you there!
Carol aka crdlb
Thanks Louis. I am thinking about purchasing both paisley bohos and peasant tops, since the colors are so different. I would also like to recommend the movie L’Amour Fou for you and Jac. The documentary on the lives of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge was very interesting.
Dear Louis,
Will the new black peasant paisley top work with your solid black boho? Also, when will your new perfectly pink jacket with pearl trim be available?
Thanks,
Dariann
Hi Dariann,
Yes, the new black paisley top will work with the black boho beautifully. The Pink jacket with the pearls will be in my Aug. show which will be on a Sunday morning……..regards, Louis
Dear Louis,
What do you think of the embroidered v-neck tees in azure and/or black with new paisley bohos? I’m wondering if the colors in the embroidery are compatible with them.
Thanks,
Carol aka crdlb
Dear Carol,
That’s a great suggestion. I checked my samples and the T-shirts look great with the skirts. The Black and Azure Ts look really good and for those who own the yellow T….it looks great with the olive Boho……regards, Louis
“A217360, is the short sleeve mock neck” – is this THE short sleeve mock neck? Or a new style and/or fabric? Thanks!
This is a new mock neck in a totally different yarn and stitch from “THE” mock neck. This new one in in a jersey knit as THE turtleneck and the same rayon/nylon yarn as the turtle neck…two totally different sweaters….regards,Louis
I am very excited about the colors for the cardigans and new styles (V-neck!).I am sure the Aubergine color is beautiful in the whisper knit. Will the black paisley boho work with the Aubergine color? I have your 2 estenials cardigans and the ivory ( waitlist for navy) and love them.
Dear Marcia,
Even though the Aubergine color is not in the paisley print, there are deep reds and fuchsias. I like the way the Aubergine looks with the print and it can be pulled together with the color accessories you choose such as a scarf in one of the fuchsias in the skirt. The Aubergine is a rich, deep, saturated color……
…………….best regards, Louis
Louis, Is it possible that the A # for the paisley Boho is incorrect? I believe that A217627 is the tank you listed in the whisper knit group. I think the paisley boho ia A216531. Also The crop pant you show as A199801, could it be A216529?
I hope you had a great Holiday. I can not wait to see you and Jac next week. It is no problem to make my list, I am getting everything.
Much love, Debbie
Hi Debbie,
You are absolutely correct…..I will correct my blog………Louis
Happy 4th to you, Jac, and the girls. Your panorama is magnificent. Enjoy every moment. You are appreciated for your attention to quality, detail and the time you give to fully describe each upcoming show. You are “class” personified. Will the black brushed cotton crop be a good match for the black zipper jacket from this spring, #A213327? I am definitely purchasing that in the olive, and its matching jacket. Will the pebble crepe big shirt in olive from last year look flattering with the new olive paisley skirt? Lastly, when will the whisper knit turtlenecks be offered? They are still not shown, even on waitlist, for the olive and red. I hope I will be able to buy them. Would the mallard blue be a good choice for the olive paisley skirt? Have a very relaxing time in Ct. The weather is supposed to be great. By the way, I know you are not in Danbury, but there is a small ice cream, yogurt parlor on Germantown Rd. in Danbury that makes homemade ice cream and yogurt- fat free, sugar free (if you want) that is great. – Il Bacio is the name.
Dear Rhoda,
The new black brushed cotton pant it the same fabric as the zipper trim jacket, so yes they will definitely go together! The olive big shirt looks wonderful with the paisley skirt. You can wear a matching Olive tank or contrast tank such as the Mallard Blue [avail in Aug] under it and either belt the big shirt or let it flow free. I also checked and the A199266, olive short sleeve shirt with the mesh yoke, and the A213216, olive safari jacket also look great with the paisley olive skirt. The turtlenecks will also be avail in Aug. so if you are on wait list, they usually ship out the wait list before the show airs. Personally, I love the mallard blue with the olive and the black paisley skirts. I would accessories with multi color beads that pick up the colors in the skirt. Don’t try to match your accessories to the mallard blue.
We use to have an ice cream place right here named Il Bacio and it was all homemade but, they moved. Wouldn’t it be funny if it were the same people! It just might be……Have a wonderful Holiday………Louis
Happy 4th to you Louis, Jac and the girls. Am so excited to see the new items coming on the 13th. Looks like some fabulous items, as usual. Saw the sneak peak of the olive jacket and crop pants on your last show, so that’s a no brainer for me. I love, love “olive”, but I also wear alot of black…so, I can see I’ve got some decisions to make, which ones and how many??? (Such a problem.) I have your Azure long sleeve crepe tunic blouse (A-199788). Is that going to go with the olive paisley boho?
I really want to thank you so much for taking the time out in your busy schedule to give us all this information. Your comments and suggestions are soooooo very helpful, here and during your presentations. I can see that you are a very considerate and caring person and I’m sure I can speak for all of us that we really appreciate it. Keep up the fabulous work. See you on the 13th!!!
Regards, Ann
Dear Ann,
The pebble crepe big shirt in azure does work with the olive paisley skirt. I would suggest wearing it with the olive tank that is coming in Aug. The Azure big shirt also looks great with the black paisley skirt…..then I would suggest a black tank………..best regards, Louis
Thanks, Louis! I’ll be ordering the boho along with the new jacket and crop pant. Can’t wait to see then on the air! Have a wonderful evening with Jac and the girls!
Happy 4th to you all!! The tanks (A217627) will be available in the olive, aubergine and the dark mallard blue? I am interested in the olive paisley boho.
Regards, Chris
Yes the tanks will be avail in Aug. in those colors plus black and a cardigan to match…..all in the rayon/nylon “Whisper knit”.
Louis,
Thanks for the sneak peek. I can’t wait to order the paisley boho skirts. I own just about every color and I am wearing one right now as it is my go-to outfit for the summer. For work I often wear both your longer and shorter georgette skirts with the satin vertical striping. They are no longer offered (I can’t figure out why), but the ones I bought several years ago are still beautiful and I continue to receive compliments on them. Louis, thank you for offering the highest quality of workmanship for such reasonable prices.
Have a blessed July 4th.
Dear Carol,
I would say it’s a long sleeve because from the elastic there is a 5 inch circular ruffle. It can be pushed up to a 3/4 length sleeve………..regards, Louis
Oh, my, that sounds gorgeous! Thanks for knowing just what we need!
Those paisley boho skirts sound just dreamy and also very versatile–I can imagine them a dozen ways from heels and your velvet top with the chiffon sleeves and little ruffle at the shoulder to a pair of wellies and a crunchy fisherman’s sweater. You will have your work cut out for you deciding how to style those for the show. I don’t think they will make the show or if they do will sell out immediately. Who doesn’t love the YSL ‘rich peasant’ look?
Oh, looking at Jac, I find it hard to believe even a spoonful of ice creams passes those lips!
Actually, it’s fat free or frozen yogurt!
She’s a good woman, that one. Takes good care of you!
Funny…..that’s what all my friends say!
Thanks, Louis. You’ve provided all the fireworks we need!
Can you give some more information about the sleeve length on the paisley peasant top?
‘
Cannot wait to see the paisley! I’ve ordered the fuchsia cold shoulder top in anticipation of a fast sellout when you show it with the skirt.
The new crop pants are going to be so good. I love the tobacco and black sateen ones so much that I have two pairs of each color–that’s true love.
Enjoy your holiday!
