Hi Everyone,
I thought I would give you a heads up to some of the sneak peeks I have planned for the two shows. Primarily, I want you to see what the new essential sweaters in the “Whisper Knit” will be. These items usually do not get scheduled air time so this is a great way for you to see them on models.
During the 6am show you will see the sweater that started it all, A72448, “THE” turtleneck in the new RED. A fabulous clear, true red…..the olive, long sleeve v-neck [this style was a strong customer request and it looks great with the sleeves rolled up to 3/4 length for early wearing]…….the olive tank which is the perfect layering piece for ALL of your olive pieces [the cotton jacket with studs, the olive safari jacket, the olive shirt dress, the olive boho and the new olive blazer, plus it’s a great accent to all of your neutral pieces [the khaki safari pieces, the sage blazer or under black], and with bright colors such as your boho skirts or the new olive paisley skirt….this is a MUST have.
The 1pm show will start off with the A3825 reorder of the short sleeve crew neck sweater. I will be featuring the new Olive and the new Aubergine [all of the colors in this style are terrific]. The sneak peak will be the new slim leg pant, A217972 in the fawn and olive….very important colors. I want you to pay attention to the jewelry being worn by Kate and Brenda. What they are wearing is what I am “proposing” for FAll….my new colored pearls….super long for doubling and tripling, and on Brenda….my “BYZANTINE” group, a cross, two necklaces and an earring. You will see the aubergine tank on Angela under the khaki dress and the new black blazer….it’s a wonderful accent color and goes with many things. The olive mock neck will be on Kate and the aubergine V-neck will be worn by Brenda. The olive tank and cardigan will be on Jac…..the cardigan worn over the shoulders with the new olive paisley boho. The mallard blue short sleeve mock neck on Brenda….an incredible saturated bright teal. She will be wearing it with my gold chain necklace, bracelet and ribbed earring. At the end of the show, Kate will be wearing the pearls again, in spruce green and dark gray, Angela will have the new mock neck in black and the new straight leg pant in Fawn. Jac will be wearing the aubergine mock neck with the black v-neck over it ……a great way to layer colors and to punctuate the jacket being worn….in this case the new aubergine leopard print jacket…..a wonderful layered look for fall.
To recap….the essential Whisper knit group consists of the turtleneck, the short sleeve mock neck, the long sleeve V-neck, the tank and the cardigan. Each style will come in black, mallard blue, aubergine and olive. Of course the turtle neck will come in additional colors. I will be doing other styles in the Whisper knit but, these 5 styles I consider my “CORE” group. They are terrific on their own or for layering….the combinations are endless.
I hope you enjoy the shows!………….much Love, Louis

Thank goodness this turtleneck is coming back! I’ve been on permanent lookout for it for months since it’s been sold out for the longest time! I literally jolted out of my chair in happiness when you highlighted it as coming back in one your July shows! Another one that I’m on permanent lookout for is A87423, since it’s one of the few sweater knit quality tops you have in white. I was very disappointed when I received notice from Q that they cannot fill my wait list order. Please consider more fine white tops since they are such a basic layering piece, particularly in summer.
I hope you bring back the silk window pane 3/4 sleeve shirt in black, white and silver in all sizes. It’s my “go to” top for dressier occasions, and I keep one permanently packed in my suitcase for travel.
Thank you so much for all of your wonderful clothes and for giving us such quality items. Your clothes reflect such impeccable attention to detail, from the fine linings of your jackets to the gold hook chain at the back in some of your jackets. It just astounds me whenever I read that the Q may be reluctant to have any of your items on. The Q really needs to realize that some of their core customers and spenders want higher end items to pick from. Sometimes I think the Q has lost its way with all of the t-shirts they offer. T-shirts, t-shirts every where–crew neck, scoop neck, v-neck, jewel neck, you name it. One can only watch so many shows with all of those t-shirts.
And I have to say Issac – what is up with that – he is jammed down our throats – he acts like an idiot – he loves everything and wants to buy everything – he has some kind of deal w/ the Q tied in with Liz Claiborne too – overpriced and not attractive. I mean clothes, jewelry, handbags, linens – cheesecakes – anything he can stick his name on – please we want more Louis!!!!! What is this the Q is reluctant to have your items on – they don’t like sold out sold out sold out???
Dear Mackenzie,
I believe the A87423 IS coming back next spring in Black, white and perfectly pink…..when I get the confirmation I will let you know for sure…..regards, Louis
I don’t know if you saw, Louis, and maybe it was a mistake, but they listed the new color in the mockneck for a nanosecond as: perfectly pink, cornflower blue, red and one other that I cannot remember for certain, but think it was purpble. Maybe this another case of the fuchsia boho. When you said the other colors of the spring reorders were correct, I was happy to hear it because I’d really love a red, a cornflower blue and a purple mock neck, in addition to the perfectly pink.
Whatever we get, I’m buying it. We all LOVE that sweater!
Carol,
I don’t know where the red, corn flower blue and purple came from for the mock neck? They are reordering the black and white and adding perfectly pink as the one new…….Louis
Louis, They accepted my wait list order for the red! Looks like I won’t be getting it. Barbara
Dear Barbara,
I really don’t understand how they can take a wait list on something that isn’t listed and doesn’t exist???? I do have some good news for you. Coming in DECEMBER….I will be offering the pencil skirt with a new A# at 26 inches long!!!It wi8ll becoming in Black, Fawn and Perfectly Pink. If it does well Then I can bring it back in more colors!…..Louis
Terrific news. Like Barbara, I prefer the longer length- or at least my knees do.
Yeah for the 26 inch long pencil skirt! I love your pencil skirts but often wonder if they are too short for my age bracket. And I just got the short sleeve sweater (A3825) in aubergine and love it! The medium is a perfect fit and feels wonderful! I’m going to order it now in olive and wait-list in fawn also. Thank you so much for your classic wonderful clothing!
YEA!!!!!!!!! I know many, many of us will be doing the happy dance!!! Thanks, Louis!
Thank you so much, Louis, for persisting on behalf of your tall and leggy customers, and all who prefer a longer skirt for their personal looks. This is just great news!
Thank you for your reply. I will be very much on top of it next spring when this beautiful and very versatile white top comes back. I do hope that interest continues for keeping A107319 available since it is such a classic. The fact that it has remained popular for years upon end shows how drawn women are to that look.
Dear Mackenzie,
I know that QVC wanted to bring back the A107319, but the price increase might prohibit it from being reordered. When I know I will let you know…..regards, Louis
When QVC does its price point analysis, I hope they differentiate between high quality clothing such as yours and their more casual items. I am very certain that women who want a classic look will be more than willing to pay more for A107319 since it is a very high quality silk blouse that can even double for a jacket on hot summer days. I wonder if you made the blouse a little longer if it would satisfy any of QVC’s concerns about the higher price. The blouse would be fine a little longer and you could use the extra length to introduce it as a new item with a higher price. It’s just a thought because I know women would be more than willing to pay more for A107319 even if the design remains as it is today. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to our thoughts.
P.S. Please disregard my thoughts about the longer length since I see that the length is already 28″ in plus sizes, which is very ample. I was just thinking out loud. Thanks.
Hi Louis! I just got back from a vacation on Nantucket and got lots of compliments on the Linea items that I wore. Of course, the black pebble crepe crops were so versatile I wore them everywhere. Would love them in your beautiful navy (hint, hint). Tees with gold trim and natural linen crops, ivory cardigan, etc. all worked well on preppy, nautical Nantucket. I got home in time to see the July shows and order the black and olive separates. Can’t wait to see the new items in August! Enjoy your summer and HI to Jac!
Beautiful Nantucket! What a wonderful jewel of an island! Jac and I have had wonderful times biking to and from the beaches and looking at all the antique shops. If the pebble crepe crop pant should be reordered, I will certainly remember your request for navy…..regards, Louis
Loved your shows and can now see how my credit card will catch fire next shows. The Mallard Blue is just gorgeous. With olive green and black–the perfect peacock feather combo.
Is the gabardine of the new slim leg/straight leg pants similar to that of last year’s contour waist pants?
In case the QVC buyer reads your blog, just want to reiterate my disappointment that there will be NO TALLS in these pants!
Can’t wait for the new sweaters, pants and of course, the pearl jackets!
Carol aka crdlb
Dear Carol,
The fabric of the two new pants I will be offering in the Fawn, Black and Olive is a sister quality to the rayon/poly/span of last years contour pant. That means it is the same fiber content and the same weave, so it is very similar. The difference is…..the new quality is a little heavier. I am also doing a riding jacket in this quality in fawn ans red with black velvet collars and I wanted the fabric to be a little more substantial for the tailoring. When you have it on you won’t feel the difference…..except they feel even more expensive…………..regards, Louis
A red riding jacket with a velvet collar?
You’re killing me….
With a red turtleneck. Stick a fork in me!
crdlb
Those jackets will be instant classics! I’ll be ordering in both colors; the “Fall” pearls will be smashing with the jackets. I hope the pant comes in petite – I am not normally petite, but the rise in the regular pant is up to my bra line and the petite is perfect!
I loved what I could see online later of the shows. Sadly, a death in our family took us away from home for most of yesterday. I was able to order early online the new boho skirt in olive and the new tops in olive and aubergine. I am looking forward to getting them for sure! I also loved the new top and sweater shown on Jac when presenting the paisley boho skirts and will order that when available. Thank you again for clothes with classic style that never goes out of fashion!
Really enjoyed yesterday’s show, especially the jewerly. The red bangles and the red bead necklace, are these something that you are proposing to QVC or are they in Jac’s collection? I would love to get my hands on them. Thanks, Lilly
HI Lilly,
They are part of my accessory collection. I am glad you enjoyed the shows….regards, Louis
Loved your shows, as usual! If QVC doesn’t bring in that byzantine jewelry it will just confirm how inept they really are in recognizing quality pieces 🙂 I realize that in this economy they are being careful of price point, but they must realize the need to balance the cr*p that they bring in by the bushel with a few quality pieces. By any chance, is this the original cross from AK? Found it by googling (of course!)-
eBay item #110662368574.

Hi Kaufeegurl,
I am trying to bring quality pieces to Qvc and they have been very willing to try them. Hopefully they will continue but it has to sell in order to continue. All of the Byzantine pieces including the cross were originally things I designed for the “Anne Klein Couture” line. I’m glad you liked it….regards, Louis
I think the Byzantine pieces will sell like hotcakes! Very unusual and so very
timeless yet “of the moment” fashion. Your jewelry reminds me very much of the jewelry that used to be produced in Providence, RI – substantial and impeccable quality. I think there are only 2 companies left in Prov. that still do that quality plating; sadly the jewelry district is either empty or now lofts. I remember going to fabulous jewelry sales twice a year in warehouses the size of an airplane hangar. It was mostly Napier and Monet (90% off retail); but I think I remember a small section of Anne Klein. This was in the ’80s and I used to go with my mother – sadly I wasn’t old enough to appreciate what I should have been purchasing by the cartload.
That makes two of us. I should have kept at least one of each sample of jewelry I had done for Anne Klein. The vintage pieces are commanding some hefty prices on E-Bay. They were all made in Providence and the quality was incredible. It’s very sad how it has all but gone away. Some of my models are still made in Providence………regards, Louis
The picture of the cross that is posted on the jewelry forum is the original cross. We sold it with a chunky chain and a fine chain. They are asking over $200 for it…..It is a beauty……regards, Louis
I found that on eBay this morning, I could just tell from the picture it was an original. I have to say I like it much better with a fine chain. Not many people can carry off such a heavy look, unless you happen to work at the Vatican 🙂 I so truly hope that the Q orders the jewelry, fingers crossed!
Louis,
What a lovely show…and that paisley print is magnificent..as are the two new jackets..my closets are bulging with your great pieces…I liked Pat and Albany today because they seem to GET your clothes and I think they were able to convey to the listening audience why your pieces are so beloved by women who know good clothes. I am dying for those straight leg pants coming in August. I hope you can manufacture a significant inventory of those pants and the whisper knit sweaters…your essentials are fabulous.
best,
Victoria
Dear Victoria,
I enjoyed working with Pat. She is a woman with a lot of personal style and, I thought she looked great in the black top and boho skirt. I have only worked with Albany once before and I found her very congenial. She really does look great in color with her flaming red hair!
I really do not know what quantities were ordered for the sweaters or the pants but I will give you all of the details well before the Aug 28th show………
………regards, Louis
Louis, what a fabulous show! I closed my door and watched on a little flat-screen TV in my office. Joined in the live chat, which was tons of fun. I got the boho in both swoon-worthy colors … and I’m a “black is the new black” kind of girl! Also ended up buying both the olive and black jackets – had planned on just the olive, but really how can you say no to another great black jacket!?
Please please bring us that cross! And I’m now off to save my pennies for August, and those divine slim pants and v-neck sweaters.
Louis, great idea. I posted a video link that shows models wearing the jewelry on the Fashion Talk, Linea and Jewelry Talk webpages on the QVC site. I’m sure once all your ladies get a look at these knockouts, they’ll start doing their thing!
Holy Smokes–that was a great show. And I really do hope you are successful with the new cross and the new pearls! Picked up the new boho and peasant in both colors and looking forward to wearing the with tanks now and tweeds come fall!
Paisleys and tweeds….TRES CHIC!I’m glad you like them…..Best, Louis
Thanks for your stamp of approval! Like you always tell us, gotta mix it up.
We had a great time posting live over on the Q forum during the afternoon show. You might enjoy reading it.
How to put this diplomatically–I think many feel that you and Linea deserve only the A-List hosts and were disappointed to see Albany rather than Mary Beth, Lisa or Sandra. And yes, it’s a Southern thang.
Have a relaxing weekend, then on Monday back at! We need that new jewelry.
The olive tank top is mine next month!! Love that fabric!!
Louis, I posted on the Q Linea forum that I’m going to be ordering so many olives, in today’s show as well as in August, that I’ll have to have a lot of martinis! Keep those greens coming!
Louis, I can’t wait to see the Byzantine Cross. I’ve got one by KJL that I wear a lot. Very bold! Thanks for the heads up! I would love another!
Are you proposing the Byzantine jewelry in gold or silver, and will the cross have stones?
The jewelry is all in gold and the cross has different color cabochon stones at each end and at the center….. on both sides of the cross……but as I said, nothing has been ordered and I have no idea if it will be…..These pieces were originally vintage AK that I had done years ago..The whole effect is very CC and the funny thing is…..the whole CC early fall is Byzantine too!
Louis, thanks for the head up on A72420 – the beautiful turtleneck. I notice that on waitlist – meaning coming in the future – is a perfectly pink version of this sweater. Before I put it on My waitlist, thought I better check to see if this “perfectly pink” is the shade matching the boho or if it is the mis-named “perfectly pink” of the recent chain link items – more of a carnation pink. I’m looking for matches to my boho in perfectly pink and really was bummed out that QVC named that OTHER shade (though lovely) perfectly pink.
Hi Nancy, The perfectly pink T-neck is THE perfectly pink. Naming the chain group P. Pink was a mistake. I named it pink knowing it was different. In my description on this site, I also said that the pinks were different and thew chain print pink was a little more blue than the P. Pink. I will do my best to make sure this doesn’t happen again, but there is very little I can control out side of my sphere………regards, Louis
Hurray!!!! Thrilled to get ANY top (plus size) in THE perfectly pink. Thanks so much Louis. It’s now ordered on waitlist 🙂 I had ordered a couple of tops last show labeled “perfectly pink” and it was not until I heard you explain on air that it wasn’t THE perfectly pink of the boho that I went in and canceled the order. You definitely saved my bacon that day with your on air clarification. You do that a LOT and I greatly appreciate it – clarify things on air 🙂
Louis, colored pearls, in SPRUCE GREEN? Sign me up for a dozen! LOL. I do hope the Q orders them so we can order them.-Blinddogs
I know they are quite beautiful but, I have no idea at this point if they are going to order any jewelry…….it’s an up hill battle.
LOL, I have to chuckle, Louis. I have always loved the Maltese cross and recently bought an unused but vintage Florenza one. I received it on Friday and it is stunning! The colors of the stones are faceted yellow topaz, cabochon rubies, and long marquise onyx. All faux and beautifully set in burnished gold tone. Looks like we may be on the same wave length. IF QVC decides to order the jewelry, when will it be available to order? The new color of Cassis also has my name on it! As always, Barbara
Be still my heart! It’s 96 degrees and I feel a sweater binge coming on. Not to mention the paisley boho set and, did you say gray pearls and Byzantine-inspired jewelry? Love! I can hardly wait for sunrise on the 13th.
Don’t get too excited about the jewelry. It hasn’t been ordered. I hope they do but, I’m not sure they will……
How exciting! I’m so glad you posted this little sneak peek.
I’ll be glued to the set and recording it for whatever I miss.
Your shows go by in a flash; I like rewatching them to catch the fine points!
Cheers,
Nancy (aka- smilesalot)
I am so excited about these Core group pieces. I love all the colors, and am looking forward to new colors going forward, to coordinate with your jackets and pants. Being a navy lover, I’m hoping for this color on the horizon. Can you tell us which of the Whisper knit colors coordinates with the new cassis pencil knit skirt? I have that on waitlist and do not want to miss out on the coordinates for that one. My new aubergine leopard jacket is coming to me tomorrow. Does that coordinate with the cassis?
Thanks for answering all of our little questions. We can’t help but be excited about what’s coming down the road.
Sincerely,
Carol aka crdlb
Dear Carol,
The Aubergine Leopard is in the wine/burgundy family and the Cassis is in the magenta/dk.fuchsia family, so they really do not work together. As far as coordinating the Cassis with the whisper knit colors….black of course is a sure thing……then it’s a matter of how adventurous and creative you want to be. The teal and olive will work but you would have to pull it together with accessories, a scarf, jewelry, belt, bag etc. It can be quite beautifully done but, the right accessories are need.
In Aug. I will have a matching Cassis top. It is in a brand new fabric that I absolutely love! It is a pucker fabric and looks exactly like fabrics I’ve seen from Italy. Armani, Donna Karan and Yogi Yamamoto [SP] have all used very similar fabrics. The top is a very simple jewel neck long sleeve shell with a keyhole button in the back. What I love about this top, beside the fabric is…..it has a SEPARATE cowl piece that you can add to create a whole new top! Also coming in Sept. there will be two additional sweaters in the Cassis, in the same yarn as the skirt so they will be exact matches. One is a V-neck long sleeve tunic that looks incredibly modern over the skirt. You can belt it or not and when it really gets cold you can layer the short sleeve black whisper knit mock or long sleeve turtle neck under it. Also the short sleeve sweater that I will be selling on the 1pm show would look great under it too. I did this exact tunic style at Anne Klein in Marino wool. The other style is a button front cardigan. It has a jewel neck, long sleeves and a wide ribbed border like the waist shrinking sweater from last year. They will both be in CASSIS!……..regards, Louis
OOH! That sounds so good. I’m now thinking the charcoal gray double breasted jacket with the violet lining might work, too. And the magenta whisper knit t-neck. I have the ponte knit stand color tunic jacket, too. And probably the new paisley peasant top, too. OK, I definitely need it. LOL
BTW: As long as your pleading with QVC to order jewelry, don’t forget the chain hoop earrings!
what other colors will you have in the pucker top? Sounds like another must have for me!
