……..The “KATE” shirt, A214116, is back……As you see from my collage above….it has NEVER been away………The new color is…………..BUTTER YELLOW………..It is a warn pale yellow with pink, not green, undertones.If you own the OPEN FRONT KIMONO CARDIGAN, A233950, shown above, then you know exactly what the color is……they work beautifully together…………….For those of you who are new to the Linea brand….this is the brief story of the Kate shirt….My wife, who is a WHITE SHIRT lover….and who will on rare occasions wear a color…….was always on the search for a good white shirt that didn’t cost $200. Most of the shirts she found  didn’t have a good fit, were made badly, and were see through…..and still cost way to much for what they were…..so…..my task was to come up with a white shirt that would please her and many of you who kept asking for the ideal shirt. Searching the fabric market for the right cotton was futile so I had this cotton developed. It is a cotton span blend, but it also has a fine twill construction which gives it more density…..no see through. My next step was to have the right style and finishes…..so….I sent one of my dress shirts to the factor with the pattern and asked them to copy all of the mens details…….down to the COLLAR STAYS…..Where do you find a woman’s shirt with collar stays?….It makes a difference….no curling collars. One of my “song birds” who kept asking for this kind of shirt was Kate…..a la the “Kate Shirt”……Yes, it is all cotton without any man made fibers except for the spandex for stretch, and the cotton has not been chemically treated to prevent wrinkling….so some light pressing may be required……but, to a true cotton shirt lover this is a small price to pay…..If you never pull out an iron or don’t use the dry cleaners then honestly this shirt may not be  for you……………………..Above, are three examples of the Kate shirt…the new BUTTER YELLOW, and the most popular WHITE….and Blue, a true menswear color.
