***********************************Happy Memorial Day ****************Time goes by in a flash. It seems I was just sending you all Memorial Day wishes yesterday, but another year has definitely gone by. This year was marked by the stories of extreme weather, and extreme terror. The world and the planet seem to be in more turmoil then ever. What is happening across our nation is horrifying…….it’s either extreme drought or extreme flooding, and the tornadoes scare the daylights out me . The record breaking snow fall seemed like it would last forever and in parts of the country it’s still snowing!…..and this is just in the USA. Earthquakes all over the planet seem to be always in the news…….Is Mother Natures telling us something?………Monsters are roaming the planet, and I mean the human kind……it’s just too unbelievable to discuss, and frankly I’ve read and seen enough on the news to last a life time………………but today we honor those who have given their lives for us and for this country. Young men and women who courageously went into battle for all the right reasons…..believing in what our leaders told them was just and right. I pray for them and their families, and pray that the lives they sacrificed was for a cause that was right and just. God bless them, and God bless America**********************************************************Love, Louis

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes to everything, but it’s still my choice to live in this country–along with all the monsters and terrorists–considering the other choices. My Grandfather died in WWI. Everytime my Mother visited Pearl Harbour, it brought her pain because she never knew the joy of having a Father. Just saw a movie about a Father who thought he had lost his three sons in Nepal, during a WWI massacre only to travel there a find one son still alive after years of dread. I often wonder will human beings ever evolve to the stage where love and caring is the only order of the day, and killing is NOT AN OPTION.
Thanks for the beautiful picture and thoughts. My first husband was an Air Force pilot and was killed in Vietnam. He is one of many listed as MIA. One year I was honored to be part of the changing of the guard at the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers at Arlington. Cried for a week after that touching ceremony. Today is always so bitter sweet for me and our beautiful children. They never knew their dad. A lot of pictures and loving grandparents, aunts and uncles. Often wonder if all this is worth it. Anyway, thanks for flying Old Glory so proudly each year.
Well said, Louis. Happy Memorial Day to you and Jac.
Thank you, Louis, for your rememberance of all those who put their lives on the line. As the daughter of a Korean vet, and a girl who watched her friends march off to Vietnam, I can only say how thankful I am that my son has been spared the call to duty. For those who have lost loved ones in service of their country, you have the thanks of a grateful nation. Let us all hope for a more peaceful world filled with opportunity and abundance for everyone.

Stunningly Beautiful Photo and Thoughts, Louis! Thank you and Jac for all the Beauty you bring into our lives! God Bless You! God Bless America!
Dear Jac and Louis,
Happy Memorial Day to you both! It looks like a gorgeous day to be shaping up where we are. Time to plant all those pretty annuals– I’ve got lantana to stick into the ground today.
Regards,
Chris
Louis, thank you for once again recognizing an important day. Because of those who have sacrificed in more ways than we can comprehend, the United States continues as a beacon of freedom. It is the one place where human rights have always been part of the plan. Perhaps, as in all things, not everything is perfect, but this magnificent country tries to provide all opportunity and freedom to those who are fortunate enough to belong to it. We must try to remember what the U.S. is all about and those who suffered hardships to preserve our “treasure.”
Goldie, beautiful words. So true. We are blessed.
Happy Memorial Day to all as I remember my grandfather who served in WWI and my father who served in WWII and both returned home safely. God Bless America there is no place like it and those that serve may they return home safely!
Beautiful picture Louis thanks!
Today is a very special day. My dad was in the Marine Corps for 21 years and served in WWII and Korea. My mother and I both worked for and retired from the VA so veterans have always been a part of our lives. Semper Fi and God Bless the USA.
Good memories today of my Dad and his brothers who served in WWll and came home safe and all those who serve our country and their families. God Bless America! Thank you Louis and Jac for the lovely photo.
So beautifully said (and photographed!) as ever Louis. It’s always a proud and reflective day for our country and my family. My husband was a career USAF officer, my father a navy man during WW II, grandfather in Europe in WW I, husband’s uncle at Guadalcanal, another uncle at D Day and more. So many sacrificed for our freedoms. Thanks for the reminder. God Bless America.

Beautiful sentiments, and yes may GOD bless America.
Well said Louis and I agree. Thanks for your always thoughtful Memorial Day post and picture – beautiful. It’s good to know that someone has sunshine! Cool and raining here. Be well.
You echo my sentiments exactly. It seems to be a new world we’re living in. My Dad and many uncles were in WWII, sadly my mother in law lost her brother in the war, he was a pilot. Our humble thanks to all who serve us.
I hope you and Jac had a peaceful weekend.
