I recorded the show and Jac and I sat down to see the opening with Brenda in the white Braided top. At first we too thought it was the camera angle and thought it was the black showing though vibrating from the lights. Stripes can do that….but the close ups clearly show damages. Since this is a brand new piece and has never been worn I am not sure what happened to the top. Brenda was not wearing any jewelry that would have caused this and it did not happen to any of the other tops shown. In the ware house when they arrive they are taken out of the boxes, hung on hangers and then plastic bags with all of the necessary info on printed labels [style number, size etc] are put over them. Maybe something happened to this one piece during this process? The stylist then pulls the sizes and colors she needs according to my sketches, and who is wearing what and they they are brought to the models room where they are steamed and or pressed according to what is needed. Then I come in and go over the outfits put the accessory bags and shoes with each outfit and wait for show time where the clothes are handed out to each model. As I said no one even noticed it or we would have had Brenda change. I re-looked at my samples, which come from the same production QVC receives, and tugged it again….. hard….to see if I could tear it…..nothing happened. Having said that I have gotten in touch with my manufacturer to see if she has any explanation of what could have happened………..It could be that something happened in the factory and was not caught, or when they were unpacked and hung on hangers…..who knows what goes on and I don’t want to point fingers because know one can know for sure….. and Brenda just happened to get this one fluke top……It’s a mystery that may never be solved….Of course if this should happen to someone’s top QVC would take it back. This just baffles me because these fabrics are tested for strength, color fastness etc etc, and as I said before this is not a fragile fabric…..it’s polyester fibers which are very strong……If I should get anymore information that I think will better answer this mystery I will certainly pass it along. I certainly do not want anyone to feel they are buying an inferior product…..especially one that I was so excited to bring to all of you!………

Stuff happens, that’s life. I’m excited to receive all 3 tops and skirts. Lessons have been learned with the Forum going at lightening speed and opinions expressed by people who seem to like to kill sells on particular fabrics and often don’t even buy Linea. Glad you were on top of this asap. I have a couple of items from another designer in polyester knit with mesh backing and they are fine to wear without worrying they have to be babied or too fragile. I do realize these are not for working in the yard but being polyester should give them enough strength for modern day wearing. I’m not cancelling anything! OOPS did I reveal I have other designers in my closet; but then again you said Jac buys from other designers so I don’t feel too guilty.
Well she does now, but when I designed Anne Klein she wore it exclusively…LOL
Thanks for being the class act we knew you were and checking everything out. I am sure everyone feels much better about it.
But QVC had to know because they put all the videos on except for this one.
I would think they did, though I don’t know that is a fact. I’m sure if they wanted to they could edit the close ups so the top in all of the colors could be seen.
Sounds to me that it might have been a box cutter cut that occurred when the shipping box was opened. In any event, I look forward to receiving my white tunic AND skirt. I can wear the Ponte skirt with drawstring from a while back and am hoping that this skirt will be the same. 🙂
Barbara….I was thinking the same thing, but since I don’t know for sure I wouldn’t have suggested that. I was once told they usually pack the 2x and 3x with the xxs and xs together in one box with the smaller sizes on top. I think they do this for processing reasons. It is quite possible that they opened the box with a box cutter and cut through to the tunic since all the cuts were on one side, but that’s pure speculation…..but we did have the same thought.
I’m 100% confident that something extraordinary happened to that top and that all the pieces I ordered are going to be dazzling! I have seen much worse things on other shows before, so hopefully this will blow over and we can all get back to enjoying our lovely Linea. This is what happens when you have a 60″ HD tv!

Louis,
I loved these tops and skirts and bought them.I have the v neck top with sheer sleeves and I absolutely love it and I think this top is sheer along those lines. Things happen, I love it and have bought them and look forward to wearing them next week to my son’s end of year school events. Honestly, there is so much that goes on before a show, one cannot expect perfection 100%, things happen and so be it. THank you for all my beautiful clothes.
Louis,
Thank you for checking this out – and for your feedback! The only part of the Show that I was able to watch was that Braided Knit Tunic presentation – and I did see ‘something’ that looked like a dark streak – but didn’t really think anything about it until later in the day when I read the Q Linea Forum.
I did order that Braided Top in Black as soon as it was posted – and have decided to let it ship. It looks beautiful – I have your A253378 Sheer Sleeve Top in White – and while it looks delicate it wears like iron!
I also ordered 5 other Items as soon as they were posted – and thank goodness I did – as they are all now Sold Out in my size/colour!
Was lucky enough to get the Diagonal Striped Maxi in the Topaz/Black and Ivory/Black! Your Maxi’s are The Best – if I were the Q I would ask you to design a spectacular TSV Maxi for next Spring/Summer!
Seka.
