…………………………………The NEW LINEA LEISURE PANT is A268243. The style of this pant is a pull-on, and the top band construction is similar to my new slim pant. There are two very important features of this pant that make it “fashion forward”……..The first feature is the boot cut leg. The boot cut has recently taken a back seat to the slim pant and leggings, but no longer…. You will be seeing many many BOOT CUT pants this coming fall, as well as WIDER leg pants. It’s not that the slim leg or the legging is passe….they are still very important pant silhouettes, and play a major part in putting a specific look together, but the BOOT leg and WIDE leg will be taking an important place as well…….They are the BIG NEWS…..VARIETY is what’s happening!………….The RACING STRIPE or TUXEDO stripe on pants, the second feature, showed up on many runways, and is a detail that is being used for both casual pants and dressier pants……and accessories too………….Deciding on the proper length of these pants was a major discussion………For me…there is NOTHING worse than a boot cut or wide leg pant that is TOO SHORT…..It looks like you are waiting for the flood to arrive. A slim pant that is on the short side is much less offensive than a short boot cut pant…You will see Fall slim pants hit the leg from just below the ankle to inches above….they are all correct…My boot cut pant will have a 32 inch inseam…….Sorry there will not be a petite length [not my decision] or tall, so I went with a length that should work for most women, even if they have to be shortened.. I felt that this style pant can always be shortened, but there is no way to lengthen it. Where should this pant hit on the foot????? I know many of you thought Lisa Robertson wore her boot cut pants too long, and her entire foot was covered. The reason for that was the opening at the bottom of the pant was very wide. I would rather see a pant at the length she wore them than too short. The shortest it has been shown on the runways is BREAKING ON THE FOOT…..the longest has the pant dragging on the floor. I do thing the pant should either graze the top of the foot or break on the foot…..NO SHORTER……You will be seeing a variety of leg openings……that is the measurement at the bottom. They will range from extreme to moderate. I would consider my pant to be moderate. It is still a slim leg with a modest spread at the bottom, which I think is the best look for this kind of casual pant. These are fabulous pants to wear with the new HOODIE as a track set, or on their own as accents to things you own or other things that are coming……Just some of the things I see wearing these pants with are: the HOODED PONTE BLAZER, A237551 [check out the video with Brenda], the Ponte TOP with Pockets, A237398….the COTTON/SPAN TUNIC, A262037….the BLACK LEATHER BLAZER, A228559….the LINEA LEISURE BUTTON FRONT JACKET, A262035……the BLACK OVER SIZER WK SWEATER, A257356, and A265576 the IVORY/BLACK SAILOR PULL OVER with any of the color pants…..and there are lots more you can mix with these pants….all you have to do is try….The pant will be avail in three colors all with BLACK tuxedo stripes………POMEGRANATE……..TOBACCO……..or…… SLATE BLUE………..For the NILE GREEN HOODIE and the AMETHYST HOODIE I recommend my solid BLACK Linea Leisure pant that has been reordered…. or the L.L. Black Boot Skirt, A262069…..This Boot Cut pant is very slenderizing, and the column of color with the Hoodie and pant together should add length to your silhouette……besides they are just so comfy to wear in your leisure time……actually any time………………………………………enjoy……………….much Love……………………………….Louis
We just returned from an internet-free vacation, & before I even tried to tackle my 80 pages of email, I came here & found all the great new pieces. I can’t even imagine not ordering these, they seem that essential to me. I can’t wait for fall, & the things you are showing us so far are all right in my sporty wheelhouse. Love these.
That sounds like a wonderful vacation. Since you just got home you should know I will be on this friday through out the day! I don’t have a one hour show. That’s not until Aug 31st. I will be on at 1am [that’s when the Cardigan and new jewel neck short sleeve will be on, 6am, 11am and 10pm.
Coming from a die hard boot cut lover this is great! Now I get it with the hoodie…I was a bit disconnected as individual pieces. :). This is a good look!
It would have been nice if all the pieces were posted as a group so everyone could see the coordinated group, but that makes too much sense….so I have my sneak peeks to try and explain it better.
What to do when you can’t decide on a color? Get all three! Thanks, Louis, for designing these wonderful pants. I can’t wait to get them home and start mixing/matching them with all my other Linea pieces.
I just received my Chanel fashion show video and pants with side stripes were previewed on the runway in white w/black stripe…black w/white stripe; wine/red w/purple also reversed and pink w/black also reversed. Jackets done with complimentary colors and colored sneakers (as you keep telling us); all with the CC logo everywhere; Oh, colored CC handbags. Overwhelming, but gets the message out loud and clear “This is the look going forward” and with CC debuting this look we will be seeing this type of clothing going forward for some time to come; thanks Louis. I have noticed there is a resurgence in comfortable, casual chic, leisure clothing replacing the sloppy, mismatched casual clothes many women just throw together with no thought of looking pull together and well dressed. I travel several times a month and stay at the finest hotels in the world and have seen some fabulous casual clothing lines that are so chic but boy are they expensive. Do you need a new refrigerator or a pair of Chanel leisure pants?
The answer to that question is a LINEA LEISURE PANT! It can look very chic with just a TN or my wing collar shirt and my black leather blazer
I love the new boot cut pant and the longer length. But, honestly, I’m not sure I can handle the stripe, Louis. Is this a new trend this year?
Dear Grace….of course you can handle it!!!…and yes it’s a major trend.Read what Happy Lady just posted… it first appeared on dress pants….solids, checks, tweeds at all length pants….now it’s moved to “chic casual” wear…where it started in the first place as real active “track” wear.Start with the Slate Blue and black stripe….wear it with a black TN or Crew ….have a new one coming in Aug…or try my pale blue wing collar shirt, and top it off with a COOL jacket like my hooded ponte blazer, or my black leather blazer……It’s cool to look cool at any age, and these pants are not far out or extreme. You can wear them with an ankle boot flat or mid heel, black sneakers or a black ballet flat…..Come on….step out of the box!!!I wouldn’t have designed them and made them for my Linea Ladies if I didn’t think you all could wear them well and carry it off….it just takes a little attitude!
LOL, Louis. I need a dose of your ‘tude and enthusiasm!! This would be a major out of the box leap for me! I adore your LL line–have most every piece, so far, in multiples of my favorite colors. Wear it constantly. So, I’m always happily anticipating the next new LL pieces you’re bringing our way. I need to fire up my imagination and confidence for this one…but you’ve given me some great styling options to mull over and I thank you very much!
Grace! Come on, girl, you can do it! :). Go for a different style, get a new hair do. It’s time to break out! Only go around once, there are no do overs..
Sharon, you’re too funny & I appreciate the pep talk 🙂 I live in a land of jeans, North Face fleece and hiking boots…so not too fashion-forward, unless you’re in Vail/Aspen. As Louis suggested, I could see pairing these pants with a black WK t-neck or black leather jacket…I think I can get away with that. You only live once, right! Racer striped pants today, and who knows what else I might try tomorrow;) LOL
Grace….I look at it this way….if they are all wearing jeans, North Face Fleece and hiking boots….you won’t look like everyone else, but not a different species if you know what I mean. It’s not so far a field like you were wearing a tulle skirt, a moto jacket and hiking boots…..LOL
Louis, just getting a visual in my head of me wearing a tulle skirt with moto jacket & hiking boots is pretty darn scary LOL!! But, your point is well taken. I’m going for it–all in for the slate blue!!
Decisions, decisions got to pick a color. I LOVE this style of pant with the side stripe. Will this entire line be modeled on your August 31 show or is this on line only? Hope we can see you how you envision these pieces being worn on your next show. Your styling makes all the difference.
Dear HL….I’m hopping “they script some of these pieces in the show. All they have to script is the new hoodie and then I can style the models with all the other pieces…..though that won’t give me the opportunity of showing the pieces styled with different jackets etc.
