……………………………….BURGUNDY and CURRANT is the third and last color combination………Currant always brings to mind the delicious Currant tortes Jac’s mother, an incredible baker, would make for us. Combining it with Burgundy was a natural. The Burgundy is very close to AUBERGINE….so pairing the two pieces with your Aubergine WK skirt, A237412 is a natural too. Wearing it with your AUBERGINE TIGHTS….a pair of wine suede pumps, and you have created a beautiful column of color. The WINE PEARLS, J264034, also work beautifully with this outfit …..A HEADS UP…..the CURRENT S/S JEWEL NECK, A267882, looks great with your RASPBERRY SWING CARDIGAN…..and….your RASPBERRY PEA JACKET from last fall….it’s a wonderful accent color………………………………enjoy……………………..much Love…………………….Louis
I have to say that the currant/burgundy is the most versatile with existing items I own from Linea– gray ponte pants, the alabaster S/S sweater below it, even the new pure pink WK V neck sweater looks great below it as does the charcoal gray tank and that new gray WK V neck.
Turns out I am long waisted– did a simple test of placing my hands sideways below the bust line and if you can fit 2 or more of your hands above your natural waistline (belly button) then you are long waisted. Less amount of hands– short waisted. Despite being petite, I guess the long waistedness of me works to make the cardigan look proportionally correct on me.
Louis, can you tell me if the currant/burgundy cardigan and S/S sweater set would look good on a person who has auburn hair and light complexion (more yellow than pink in my skintone)? I have the raspberry coat, cardigan and tank, and I also have the magenta midi dress; and those colors look fine on me.
Dear Lyn…if those colors look good on you than these should too. They are all in the same spectrum…………
Thanks so much, Louis. I decided to order the currant/burgundy set.
Louis,
I enjoyed all your recent presentations and wanted to comment on the color block cardigan showing. It was so apparent how the model Jackie felt wearing her elegant and beautiful currant /burgundy ensemble. Her posture and overall glow spoke volumes. I really enjoyed the repartee on country club and the Donald. Priceless!! That unrehearsed episode surely resulted in a multitude of sales. I ordered the alabaster/black at midnight, before the show. But I am seriously considering the currant/burgundy as well. As always Louis, you provide us with timeless, elegant clothes. You are the master.
The Alabaster colorway looks lovely, but I already have the ivory cardi with the gold LDO buttons, so this is the colorway for me! I can’t wait! Already ordered the currant short sleeve and the aubergine skirt. Here’s my question – will the aubergine skirt work well with the flame colorway of the ombre hi-low top? I hope so! I need to find bottoms to go with that one. Itching to wear it this fall!! (Too HOT right now for this swim mom on the pool deck. Ha!). Can’t wait to see all the new goodies!
Dear NMM….I checked and I like the aubergine skirt with the flame top. The color does appear towards the bottom of the top.If you have the aubergine tights that would look great….
GREETINGS FROM ATAVISMO,GORIANO VALLI,ITALY!!! I am confident none of my clothes will fit when I return home; but soo worth it. Oh, the food, the food! My husband and I along with 3 other couples have been coming to this community for many years and stay for a time; too beautiful to describe but unfortunately no electricity so if you have curly hair, your hair is curly here, no blow dryers etc. I brought many of your crinkle georgette pieces and LL pieces along with your blue and white asymmetrical hem “wrinkled” skirts and double layer tanks. What a hit. Two women want my new placement print tops, A262028 in black, blue and walnut, so badly I’m going to have to leave them here. Louis dell O’lio in Italy seems so appropriate; almost like destiny.
I have a question re: A228338 double crepe blouse with removable ties in burgundy. Do you by chance have one of these blouses hanging around (literally) to see how this burgundy tone looks with this gorgeous color block cardigan? I love the look of soft blouses layered with long necklaces and pearls with this type of cardigan.
This cardigan is a beauty in all colors. Great color choices! Will miss your shows; no way to watch so my daughters are sending me descriptions etc. Grazie!
Dear HL….what part of Italy are you in? What are you near? Unfortunately those blouses are long gone. I don’t even recall what shade of burgundy they were….sorry…manga…manga….manga….Italy is no place to diet, and the food is so natural you will be surprised you won’t have gained as much weight as you think.
Dear Louis,
I really don’t “need” another cardigan, but this one is tempting me yet again. Are those black pants styled with the burgundy/currant combo? You mentioned the blue wing collar blouse would look good with the grey/blue combo. Would the pink wing collar blouse work with the burgundy/currant combo?
Thank you!
Yes….they are black, but grey or navy would look good too. The pink wing collar shirt would be terrific for an alternative with jeans it would be casual.
Will the wine Linea ponte knit pieces coordinate with the currant/burgundy? Looking forward to your shows this Friday. What a schedule you have that day! Power naps–for us all.

Dear Carol….no…..when I put them together the Ponte looks like an eggplant purple wine compared to the Burgundy. The Burgundy works best with Aubergine, thought they too aren’t exact.
