“SNEAK PEEK #9”

Sneak Peek #9 is the last  photo of the items that will be shown on the three shows: 1/20, 9am, 1/21 2am, 1/21 Am Style at 8am.

This is my Python print jacket A221791, and a beautifully done print it is. What separates my prints from many others is the amount of screens and the technique in which they are printed. Where as some will use 4 screens to achieve a print…. I will use 8 or 9 screens which gives greater detail and depth. The fabric of this jacket is a new one for me. It is 100% cotton and has a very fine basket weave which you can see in the close up of the background shot [the olive print]. It has the feel of a cotton pique, so it is a tailored cloth. The length of the jacket, size XS, is aprox 22 3/4 inches to 23 inches. It has a 3/4 length sleeve and is fully lined. This is NOT a boxy jacket. It has princess seams front and back for a subtle shaping. What is truly wonderful about this jacket, besides the print and fabric, is the details and there are lots of them. EVERY SEAM and EVERY DART is piped, even the armhole is piped. Take a good look at the photos and you will see the collar, the hem of the jacket and sleeve, the front darts , the back darts and every body seam has black piping. When I showed this sketch to my manufacturer I could immediately tell the amount of labor to make this jacket was shocking. I said “lets make the sample and if adjustments have to be made we can decide then.”……..no “adjustments” were made! The jacket is exactly as I designed it. There are no buttons on this jacket. It closes down the front, single breasted, with large industrial snaps which gives the jacket a modern edge. There are also horizontal narrow band pockets that disappear in the print of the jacket [they will come sewn closed for shipping]. This jacket also has an interesting and different neckline. It sits close to the neck at the shoulder and then gently spreads out creating a high open neckline………Python prints are slowly becoming the “new ” animal print. I love them because of the graphics of the design. If you forget for a second the connection of the print to the animal [and I choose to use the word animal]. you really become involved with the intricacies of the design…..it is one of natures wonders and I have tried to do justice by it……but to get right down to it….Python prints are VERY IN! This is practically a 12 month jacket…..depending on wear you live. Layer it up for immediately wearing or come spring early summer…..a tank and capri pant, skirt, jeans or dress pant is all you will need. This jacket can go casual or to the office. The colors are: OLIVE and yes my olives will work, BLUE….jean friendly and BLACK which has a lot of gray shades. Each jacket is piped in black so they can all be worn with black.

Again, all of the clothes in all 9 sneak peeks will be spread out  within the three shows. I also will have a few sneak peaks of things to come!……..Enjoy the shows!     much love to all, Louis

    Hi Louis,

Another question or two about the Python jacket, please? A few of us were chatting about the lines of the jacket and the Snaps.

What color are the snaps? On the close up they look to be a bronze color, but on the other shot of olive jacket they look more silver or possibly gunmetal? For us jewlery ladies, this is an important consideration, not so much in purchase decisions, but in styling … have to plan out that jewelry to match 🙂

All the models on air were wearing the jacket fully snapped and closed if I recall right. Many of us like to open an jacket to adjust for changing inside/outside temperatures, AC or not, etc. From a style standpoint, you mentioned you really liked the double breasted jacket open as well as closed; how do you feel about this one Open versus Closed?

    THANK YOU,

    Cathy in PA

Hi Cathy….. the snaps on all the colors is gunmetal, but don’t feel you have to match your jewelry to the snaps………Louis

Oh, I know, but see, I thought I could use this jacket as my excuse to buy this wonderful necklace dripping with handblown lampworked glass beads … and the chain comes in gunmetal or bronze … 🙂 There’s one in gunmetal with beads in black, clear, white and icy blue that would just look stunning with the blue Python jacket; each bead is made by hand by a team of husband and wife artists. I think I just talked my self into a necklace AND a jacket LOL

I never answered your second question! It looks fine worn open. It’s a single breasted jacket and it has some shape. I usually show the jackets closed so all of you can see how they fit and the shape, but I should have at least one of the models open it so you can see the “hang” of the jacket opened.

Ah, I’m sure you were very tired after that weekend marathon of shows at all odd hours; I know I was, and all I had to do was watch and stalk LOL. Thanks for the answer; rest up!

    Louis,

This jacket is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I are visiting Italy this May and I was looking for a jacket that would serve a multitude of purposes while I’m there. This is it! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Of course, most of my suitcase will be filled with Linea. There are quite a few pieces from your current peeks that I think will travel wonderfully.

It would be a perfect choice for Italy in May…..boy that sounds good.

    Hi Louis,

Love these, despite the animal who shall remain nameless 😉 The black is calling me, but … olive would go with so much, and blue is least like the animal who shall remain nameless 😉 Would you mind telling us which shot of the blue and green are most color accurate in the Sneak Peek? The blues especially vary quite a bit from a brighter blue in upper left to a much more subdued in lower right; probably due to camera flash. Also, does the blue coordinate with any of your other garments? I’m trying to add more blue to my wardrobe … LOVE that 100% cotton basketweave fabric, by the way!

Actually, the blue in the upper 2 right photos are more accurate, however the print is a little deeper. The photo to the middle left looks more Aqua, which it is not. The blow up of the green is pretty accurate [background] I have it with the olive pant from this past fall and it looks good. It also looks good with the tank, turtle, mock and v-neck sweaters and brushed cotton olive crop pant. The blue looks good with dark navies……..Louis

I love the piping, I love the snaps, and I love the neckline. The pattern is undefined from a distance, but up close it’s intricate, like the detail of a painting in a museum.

And I adore the way the green jacket looks with the olive pants. Gorgeous. It really looks like I discovered it in a beautiful little boutique.

      Dear Mry,
I couldn’t have said it better. This is definitely a “boutique” type jacket. It is very special and unique. It is not something you would see hanging in just any department store. A very savvy buyer would pick this up because it’s very special. It certainly isn’t something you would expect to find on QVC. It’s definitely a compliment getting jacket……Louis

    Louis,

The textures and shades you created by using numerous screens seems to make these jackets is very interesting! I doubt I would see anything like these anywhere else!
