I love the swing sweater I had stopped wearing turtlenecks because they were just too hot but the neck looks like you can fold it down quite a bit and I love that magenta color looks great with navy and grey too. A nice even deeper if possible magenta ponte knit pant would look fabulous for that tonal look. I wore my WK short sleeve sweaters all summer long even in 90 degree weather and I wasn’t overheated at all the trains and the buses are always freezing cold but the WK is very breathable.

You did magenta in your classic WK turtleneck years ago that I love. I am crazy about that color. Love it with olive, navy, grey, and of course, black. Is this the same shade? Do you recall? I still wear it with the magenta ponte stand color jacket that you designed. I am thrilled you have given us magenta. Even if it’s a slightly different shade it’s still magenta. Big Smile.

Dear Julia……I no longer have that TN, but I do recall it. I would say that if you liked that color you will like this too.

    Dear Louis,

I’m getting both the black & ivory, but I’m really drawn to this magenta. I’m just not sure I can carry it off with my coloring. Thinking it may be too strong & wash me out? I’m blonde, blue eyes, fair to medium skin tone with some warmth in it. Do you think I can handle this color? Thanks.

Dear Grace…..I have learned many years ago from some of the best make up artists in the world that anyone can wear any color if they just adjust their make up. Jac wears different makeup colors in the spring then the summer and like wise from fall to winter. Your coloring sounds like Jacs……blond, blue eyes and fair skin and she can wear it. Sometimes it just needs a deeper lip color, and a bit of a smokey eye to make the difference..

Thanks, Louis, that is wonderful advice! I know many of us had our “colors” done eons ago & were told we were one season or another with a color palette to match. But, I found my palette to be so restrictive and it didn’t always ring true. Adjusting makeup makes a lot of sense. I always notice what colors Jac models to get a read on what I should order and I know who among the Linea Ladies has my coloring & height. Takes a bit of sleuthing to get online ordering right the first time & limit returns. Appreciate all your help.

    Hi Louis,

On my computer screen the magenta doesn’t look much different from the mulberry. I’m interested in this sweater because I so love the original, which I have in black. I’m trying to incorporate color into my winter wardrobe (I have enough black and the ivory/alabaster/beige shades are not for me). The magenta looks more violet to me. Two requests, please:

    1. Compare the magenta and the mulberry; and
    2. Compare the magenta TN with the imperial violet coming in the swing re-order.

I’m very happy to hear the specs are exactly the same in the TN and the original swing, but want to make sure the same manufacturer is being utilized.

    LOVE these sweaters!

Thanks so much. My best to you and Jac.

Dear Madame….Mulberry is nothing like the magenta. Mulberry is more muted and not as saturated a color. Imperial violet is a blue purple compared to the Magenta which has more red…….color is impossible to describe. All of the WK are made by the same sweater mill…..even the quilted zip jacket was made by them so the WK colors match the sweaters.

        Thx Louis.

With my coloring and gray hair, I usually shy away from reddish purples, but like blue-ish purples. How would you compare the violet in the raglan LL top with the imperial violet?

I may end up with the black TN, but, trust me, I do not need another black LOL!

        TIA.

        Madame

Dear Madam….the new swing Violet color is the same purple as the Linea Leisure raglan sleeve top with the patch pockets that is also new this season.

        WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
        Thank you!

Is the magenta similar to the Raspberry color? If it has too much blue in it, it won’t work for me. However, I do have your Magenta midi dress, and I like that very much.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

If you are referring to the floral midi….then yes they are the same shade only the sweater is deeper. It’s interesting that you can wear magenta and not the raspberry. They both are blue reds.

  6. Kate

Is this similar to the magenta of your moss crepe skirt and top? If so, it’s insane with navy. Insane.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kate….I checked them out….They are in the same family, but not the same color. The sweater is a deeper darker version whereas the skirt is lighter and brighter. Since they are the same tone they do work together…..It would be great if you could find tights to match the sweater….you just might be lucky. I’ve seen colors all over from Target to Nordstrom to Bloomies…….they all have new colors. If not I’m sure you can conjure up something…..if all else fails……a nude leg will work.
