……………………………..You know with September here, and the days swiftly passing by…..the October chills aren’t far away……….What would be a perfect piece to ward off those nasty chilly winds?…..How about a MILANO KNIT, TWO WAY ZIP SWEATER/ JACKET with FAUX LEATHER TRIMS, A267937!…… I say sweater jacket, because depending on where you live this may be all you need for the entire Fall /Winter season…or this may be just the first layering piece you will inevitably need when winter rears its’ ugly head……………The yarn used for this Milano stitch sweater is 100% COTTON, and it is a beautifully quality cotton….The Faux Leather is 85% RAYON and 15% POLYESTER. As you know there are all different grades and qualities of faux leather…..some is very inexpensive, and neither looks nor feels anything like leather. The faux leather that I chose, which is an intricate part of the design, had to be a good quality….and it is………………..For those of you who do not know what a “Milano” stitch is I will try to explain. It is a special knitting stitch that was developed in the high end knitting mills in “Milano”, Italy. It is a DOUBLE KNIT, so it is heavier than a basic jersey or even my ENR construction. This particular stitch is mostly used for sweater jackets, and sweater coats. It can be used with EXTREMELY FINE thin yarns to produce pull over sweaters, but they would be very costly, and for very specific styles of sweater. Due to cost this is hardly ever done……………The MEDIUM GREY above is a HEATHER yarn. The TWO WAY ZIPPER and SPECIAL BAR PULLS are in GUNMETAL [photo at lower left]. This cardigan jacket can have a very uptown look with a sweater and skirt, don’t forget to add some pattern or opaque tights, or a very down town look with a turtleneck or tank and my slim pants, A265615……which…..I have just found out have been REORDERED for next SPRING!!!!! Those of you who asked if they were going to be reordered…I answered that I didn’t think so….I guess the returns were lower than I thought and the reviews were excellent…..so, for those of you who loved the pant and wanted more….more will be coming in April………..The sweater/jacket is approx. 31 inches long for the XS, which makes it perfect for leggings……..It is easy care…..machine wash………I’ve accessorized this jacket with the TRIPLE BAR NECKLACE in the GUNMETAL along with my BOLD HOOP, also in GUNMETAL. I think the Triple Bar necklace gives just the right presence and balance to this cardigan jacket………You will definitely be ready to deal with what ever Mother Nature brings……………………I will be presenting this sweater on a special show, September 10th at 5:00PM……I believe it is being called QVC Designers…or Designers of the Q……something like that…….It should be interesting……………………………….enjoy…………………much Love……………………………………..Louis
Absolutely gorgeous Louis! You continue to tempt me with your wonderful fashions. The heather grey one will be mine as soon as it is posted. I understand your wanting to spare Jac the long drive for a 10 minute presentation, but I so enjoy seeing her. She always looks stunning in your creations. You are one lucky man!
I hope that Jac will be wearing this on the show.
Happy Labor Day to you both,
Dariann
She will if she decides to come, she will definitely wear it. I have told her to stay home…it would be Okay with me. It’s a lot of driving for 10 minutes, and then we have to go back again on Sunday for my Monday show! It’s up to her. She doesn’t like me to take these long trips alone.
Louis, I’m with Jac on this one. As I read, I was thinking the very same thing! Meanwhile, have a happy relaxing Labor Day. We’re having Brats – is that close enough to Polish sausage?
Yes Yvette…that’s exactly what they are. Happy Labor Day
Dear Louis
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I can not wait till Thursday!! One question what is the sleeve length long or 3/4. Thank you! Have a great day. P.s. We are having polish sausage today to.
Dear Renee….it’s long sleeves. I purposely made the black leather bands on the sleeve wide so if someone needs to shorten it would still leave plenty of leather. It’s a very easy alteration…………enjoy your sausages!
