……………………………………Coming up with new exciting Whisper Knit sweaters each season, that may tickle your fancy, is not an easy task………but it is a challenge I love to take on. Your basic ESSENTIAL CORE pieces are the backbone of your Linea wardrobes. The classic sweaters may be admired, but it’s these special pieces that are noticed by all and garner the most compliments. The WK sweater above is what I call “THE TIERED SWEATER”, A268130……….The color combination is…………………..BURGUNDY and ROSEHIP…….This is basically a V-NECK sweater with a SADDLE SHOULDER, LONG SLEEVES and deep SIDE SLITS………the MAGIC is what happens below the sweater……………….The entire sweater, front and back, has a separate layer which is attached at the neckline, armhole and saddle shoulder. The rest of it hangs free. What you have is practically two sweaters in one. Please notice the two photos at the lower right. I have turned the sweater inside out so you can see exactly how it was constructed, front and back. I know the inevitable question will be…..”can they be worn inside out?” That is totally up to you and your comfort zone. There are “down town” designers who have been known for deconstructing their garments and using the inside as the out side, and it is well accepted……..so…..if you like this look and don’t mind the seams on the outside which look very finished, just as “they” would make them, then my answer is YES, why not…….just carefully remove all the tags! LOL………..This is a very easy fitting sweater with hip room to spare…..it’s meant to be that way! Absolutely NO CLINGING or GRABBING…..It is approx. 29 inches long for the XS. Due to the double layer the sweater was made in the classic jersey stitch……..anything else would have been too heavy. This is a sweater that easily swings both ways……super casual with jeans, a wonderful Saturday sweater, or very work, dinner, church etc. appropriate with dress pants or the WK Aubergine skirt shown above. The Aubergine and the Burgundy are not the same colors, but they are beautiful together. The ROSEHIPS accent color is NOT AS BRIGHT AS MY PHOTO. Don’t get me wrong….it is still a strong color, but not as light or bright as the pictures above……..It is slightly deeper and a little more muted…..Black, Charcoal Grey or Linea Navy bottoms are other options……..Now for the cherry on top of the cupcake…………..If you own the BURGUNDY TRENCH COAT…..this sweater looks fabulous under it and quite unexpected. The same burgundy standard was given to the fabric and knitting mills, but due to yarn differences and different formulas for each yarn type, there will always be a difference. I think they are pretty darn good together…………………..I like the CHOCOLATE metal with this combination. The Chocolate picks up the burgundy and I find the two very pleasing. For me it’s better than gold, silver or gunmetal…….but that’s MHO………..whatever you choose I’m sure will look great……………………………………………………………..enjoy……………………………………….much Love…………………………………………Louis

Louis, can you tell me if your Burgundy is a “warm” or “cool” color. I can only wear the “warm” burgundy colors. Does this apply to the turtleneck tunic also? Thanks.
The burgundy is almost like the Aubergine…I would call it warm….the turtle neck tunic is magenta, and it is soo deep I’m not sure if it’s cool or warm. It looks good on Jac and she is fair
I forgot to ask if the turtleneck tunic in Magenta is a “warm” or “cool” color. Also, is the turtleneck itself light weight or heavier like the rest of the garment. Thanks.
Lyn….I can’t answer this because I don’t know what you consider heavy….to me it’s in balance with the ENR sweater.
The tiered WK is available on QVC now for those who buy in advance.
Love this tiered V-neck WK. On the reorder, I would like this sweater in Magenta. What other color would you layer the magenta with?
Don’t know? But I doubt they would want the burgundy/rosehip and a magenta. They would want something very different…..maybe in the blue family.
Oh my, Louis. Loving these berry colors and the styles. Between the raspberry of the posh, the new raspberry and currant, aubergine and burgundy, I am in Heaven–and I can always find room for another WK. How would you compare the rosehip color to the currant?
The rose hip is brighter. Not a hot pink……a very toned down one a deep rosey pink. Hard to describe. Much like the photos but not as bright.
Perfection! I can’t wait to add these to my WK collection. I love the layered look but I refuse to look like a bag lady with shapeless, thin, sloppy layers, as some “designers” are now doing. I love these WK color combinations and will definitely wear them inside out also.
Enjoy the glorious weather!
This is layering done right. Both colors are perfect, but I think I can wear the burgundy to add some color to my wardrobe. But what is a saddle shoulder and should I consider that I don’t like shoulder padding? TIA
Madame
Dear Madame….a saddle shoulder is a different designs for setting in a sleeve it’s part raglan and part set in. There are no shoulder pads and it has nothing to do with shoulder pads. You can add them or not as you wish.
I trust you, so I’m going to try it. Are both layering pieces whisper knit? And, how many inches between the bottom edge of the top layer and the 29″ bottom layer? My apologies if you already addressed these questions and I missed it. TIA and have a great day.
Madame
P.S. I’m with Jac; don’t drive alone!
I’m sure you have seen a saddle shoulder on other garments, but didn’t know it had a name…..there are approx 3 inches of contrast color at the bottom…..and yes the entire garment is WK jersey.
Love these colors together Louis and thanks for the v-neck….this is a great layering piece to wear under the fabulous trench.
I love these colors together. This one might challenge the WK “Slice” sweater as my new favorite, it is so up my alley. And it’s interesting that you mentioned wearing it inside out, because it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the montage. But maybe just on my DIL who will want this the minute she sees it.
