………………………..Many of you have inquired about this new BOOT CUT PONTE PANT, A268216, and since it is already posted on the Linea QVC site I felt I should give you all the info I can. First, this pant was supposed to be held for the Oct. show when I will be showing the coordinating blazer, but these days I never know why or when “they” decide to post items……The Boot Cut Pant……..is similar to the SLIM PANT, A265615 that many of you have fallen in love with….in that the top is the same. It has the same CONTOUR WAIST BAND…..it has the same SLANTED DARTS that look like pockets, but aren’t, and it has the same general fit from the waist through the thigh, but that’s where this becomes a different pant. This is a MODIFIED BOOT CUT. Some would call this a true boot cut pant, but a “true” boot cut has a bigger leg opening at the bottom….or a bigger flare IMO. The leg opening is approx 8 inches……so it isn’t too wide. The inseam of this pant is 32 inches.I would have preferred it even longer, but then I was getting into the “tall” category….heaven forbid!! LOL….Petites you will have to shorten…..sorry…..but if there were ever a pant that was worth the money to shorten….this is it! and you can get the length just right for you. I would even have them make the back of the pant slightly longer than the front….to where the heel joins the shoe or a little below is even better……about half way down the heel. Why 32 inches for the regular length [which is long for QVC]? because there is nothing worse, IMHO, than a boot cut pant that is too short. It should hit or just break the top of the shoe, sneaker, flat, bootie, boot etc etc. If it is a little shorter that’s fine too. On Jac, 5’10” 1/4, it is shorter but she likes it with her black sneakers and black socks. I  am seeing boot cut pants on the runways right now that are very short…..even ankle length…..They are supposed to be cool and hip, and what’s happening, but I think it’s another case of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. If you’re a “hot designer” you can show anything and the editors rave! Have you ever seen how many of the editors dress???!!!!….Case closed……..Here is the conundrum!…….The boot cut is NUMERICAL, and the slim pant is SML!!!???What ever size you bought the Slim Pant, A265615, is the size I would have recommended you buy this pant in! but now you will have to go by measurements. If you have the slim pant or any pant you like the fit of….take those measurements and compare them to the measurements of the boot cut and you should have a good idea what size to get….. I call this SUPER PONTE, because it is in the same category or type of fabric as the Super Ponte I sold before…..you remember the elongated jacket and pant. The Super Pontes are a blend of RAYON/NYLON/ SPANDEX whereas my regular Linea Ponte, like my TSV jacket from a few years ago, the hooded blazer and the pants and skirts I’ve done in the past are Polyester blends. This new Super Ponte is not quite as heavy as the last one, but the hand is very similar. I know for sure if you loved the slim pant you will love this one just as much or more. This pant is being offered in two colors……….BLACK….and……CHARCOAL HEATHER GREY. Two must have colors……This is the only  pant I will have this season until next year! Get it early so you can check the fit and restock. I know many of you will want duplicates………………………………………………….enjoy………………………….much Love…………………………….Louis

A blazer! There was an amazing 3/4 sleeve button front ponte blazer (no peplum or hood) that I bought in chilli pepper, black and twig. A girl could only hope this new blazer is similar. What is funny is I wore the chilli pepper one today for a quick trip to Atlanta. The flight attendant said red is your color. I live for that blazer. I ordered the ponte pants in black and gray so I must get multiple blazers. Please say the blazers are similar.

As I have posted previously I love the fabric on your ankle slim pants. I recently wore your light khaki slim pants to a wedding with a beaded Armani jacket and tank. Beautiful combination! Is the fabric on your black boot cut pants as dressy as the fabric on your
    black slim ankle pants.

    Have placed my Order!

Just noticed that the Black option in Size 24 is already Sold Out!

That was quick…if these pants fit the way I think they do….they are goinging to go quickly. I hope not…I want to sell them with the blazer.

I ordered the black. Am waiting to see how they fit before I get the charcoal which I’d love to get too. Also looking forward to the blazer!

Louis I ordered these the second they were posted because I knew these would snooze and lose. Now that I have the hang of the numerical sizing, I actually do like it better than SML for many things, especially pants. Do you think these pants will work with the super ponte duster you sold last winter? I have the leggings that go with that but they are boots only pants for me since they are so short. Will the bootcut work with that shape, or is it really a slim leg only type of jacket?

32″ is not tall. Tell QVC tall is 34″ (I’ve noticed them calling 33″ tall, too.) I’m only 5’7″, but if there is a tall option, I always get those. I’d rather hem (I wish!) than be shut out of pants. I don’t even consider 5’7″ tall. I sure couldn’t get a modeling job with that. (not that I’m trying to get a modeling job, just saying).

    Dear Louis,

Thank you for a detailed heads up on the sizing. I’d already ordered this pant in the black, but after comparing the measurements of the boot cut with the slim pant, I realized I ordered the boot cut pant in a size too big. Fortunately, the pants were still “in process” and CS was still able to cancel my order for the too big pant. I just ordered both the black & grey in the correct size. (I’m assuming cancellations aren’t treated like “returns” in the Linea tally?) Also…I hadn’t realized there was a matching jacket! Can you share anything more about it, or is that one of the show’s surprises?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have to leave some surprises! But it’s a blazer type jacket.

Any idea when a petite pant option will come available again? Inquiring minds a foot shorter than Jac want to know.

      1. Rochelle

That’s really a shame. Unlike many “petites” on the Q, yours have always had properly proportioned shaping. And room in the bustline. Many of the Q vendors swear the only difference is in length. So not true, and why a number of U.S. Won’t buy those lines. A proper petite cut reproportions the rise, hip seams, and allows a balanced shaping and properly placed flare on the leg. It is significantly different when I hem petite pants 1-2″ than regular pants 6″ or more. Most regular-length pants have a rise that lands between my mid and lower thigh. And a waistline in the middle of my upper rib age. What needs to be done to encourage a replenishment of petite cuts?

One of he nice things about your swing sweaters and some of the other tops is that they come down over the fullest part of my curves before the hems. It’s a flattering look and gives me a nice vertical line.

I usually order a size small in your ponte knits, and I don’t have the straight leg pants. Since I lost weight, and size small is between a 6-8, after checking the “click here” measurements, I decided to order size 6 (38″ hip and 28″ waist). I don’t like anything too tight on me, so I’m hoping this size will work for me.
