“JUNE DRESS & SHRUG”
Sometimes, while leafing through a book, a picture jumps off the page and captures your attention. That is exactly what happened when I saw the Maria Ender painting…………. painted in Russia in 1920. She was an Abstract Impressionist. I literally have hundreds of books, which are always a source of inspiration. I hadn’t looked at this particular book in a long time. ” SOVIET COSTUMES AND TEXTILES 1917-1945″, was a present given to me by a well know fashion photographer. At the time I remember thinking what an obscure and interesting book it was, but then so was the photographer! I have always thought some day I will use that painting as a print….the day has come, and for me……. it translates into a marvelous summer dress………………..it was the perfect combination of PRINT and FABRIC……………….
A234414, is the Feather Jersey, print dress. It has a not too low SCOOP NECKLINE, and it has a CAP SLEEVE. There is an elastic at the raised waist………….This is NOT supposed to sit at the natural waist. Of course if you are short waisted….. it just may rest at you waist, and that’s OK too. If you are long waisted, and you have the tendency to try to pull things down to sit at your waist….this may not be comfortable for you…..especially if you keep tugging and not allow it to sit properly. I positioned the elastic where it is to give a longer skirt proportion, which is more slenderizing.. The skirt of the dress is gored, so there is a fit and flare shape to it. In the FEATHER JERSEY, it gives the skirt a flirty and feminine movement. The dress is approx. 42 inches long for the XS. Of course, the dress is weightless, which is exactly what you want when the temperature rises. I think they are calling the color above Azure, but I’m not sure………for me it is BLUE……… This dress works perfectly with your LIMOGES BLUE or WHITE ponte unlined jackets and your denim jean jackets in the WHITE, INDIGO or SUNBURST YELLOW…………………….when it really gets hot and you know you will need just a “LITTLE SOMETHING”, to cover your bare arms….I have provided you the perfect matching SHRUG, A234415. It too is made in the FEATHER JERSEY, and again, is light as air. For those times when you just need to cover your arms and a jacket or a sweater is just too much, this is the perfect answer. It gives the effect of color blocked solid raglan sleeves on a printed dress. You can keep it in your tote for when you may need it. The color, I believe, is called AZURE [Blue}……….The NECKLACES featured are my GUNMETAL and COLOR BEAD combination………………. I thought you might be interested to know something about the history of the print you may be wearing………….scroll down for more colors………………………………enjoy………much Love…………………….Louis
