March, #1 SNEAK PEEK

Hello Everyone! It is March 1st and time to start showing Sneak Peeks for my up coming March appearances. My dates and times are as follows: 3/29, 6:00am and 11:00am. 3/30. 6:00am and 3/31. 8:00am

The first item is the long awaited DENIM JACKET, A222543 and BOOT CUT PANT, A222548. First the fabric…..looking at denim fabric lines is a world unto itself. You would never guess how many types and variations of denim exist….literally hundreds….it can become overwhelming. After a while you just say STOP, because they all start looking and feeling alike. I knew I wanted the fabric to be light in weight, I knew I wanted it to be washed and have both a casual and dressed up look….stretch… of course. I am very pleased with the fabric I selected because it looks exactly how I had hoped the pieces would……..casual and dressy….meaning you can wear it every day or  for a more dressed up occasion. It is a blend of 72% cotton, 26% polyester and 2% spandex. The colors, INDIGO, BLACK and WHITE. There is a TWO TONE effect as most denims have, so the indigo and black are NOT solid colors as a cotton sateen would be….DENIM. The jacket is SHAPED and has three shaping seams in the front. There are narrow INSET band pockets [always a sign of better workmanship] and THREE SIGNATURE GOLD BUTTONS for the front closure. The long sleeve has THREE WORKING SIGNATURE BUTTONS which can be unbuttoned and turned back to reveal a wide facing…..no lining showing here! The jacket is fully lined in my satin lining……. THE BACK …..The back has FIVE shaping seams!!! As you can see from the white jacket photo on the extreme left there is also a BACK PEPLUM, which has turned out to be one of the most important details of the season and going forward into next fall. I think it gives this some what classic blazer a feminine and flirtatious touch…..also…. a good deal of sex appeal! If I had to compare the fit of this jacket to a previous jacket I would say it is closest to the navy, red or ivory jacket from last month. It also has a beautifully shaped and proportioned collar and lapel which in the craft of jacket making….is an art unto itself. The boot cut pant has a zip front with a gold signature button. It is a flat front with a full elastic back, so there is plenty of stretch. It has a regular waist band [in one of the pictures it looks like a high rise waist  but it isn’t]. There are front pockets only. The inseam is approx. 31-32 inches with a 1 inch hem. They do not come in petite lengths. The colors are the same as the jacket. The pant is unlined so it will be perfect for now and through the summer and fall….actually you can wear them all year long. Examine the photos for all the details. I have put it together with the Kate shirt, tanks and t-shirts and the new 2 tier pebble crepe skirt in black. There are zillions of ways to mix and combine these pieces with things you already own….i.e. the black/gray or navy/blue mosaic print boho skirt.

I thought these would be two good pieces to start the new sneak peek series off with because they are very versatile and will coordinate with many pieces to come………………..much Love, Louis

The “ROBYN” shirt is back!

The ROBYN shirt, A213617,  is back…..but many of you know that already!!! I think it’s great that QVC doesn’t hold you back from ordering certain styles before the presentation…so…. many of you have already ordered and are wearing the Robyn shirt. It has taken a full year to bring this shirt back so PLEASE if you really want it…..don’t wait. I will be making a formal presentation of the shirt this Friday on the Morning Show, starting at 6am.

THE STORY: How did this shirt come about? I was on the phone with a dear friend of mine …Robyn. I know Robyn for more years than both of us would like to admit. I hired Robyn years ago to do the runway makeup for my Anne Klein shows….which she continued to do until I left the company. During that time she moved back to Calif. and married a fantastic man name Armando, who also was a famous hair and make up artist. They would both fly in twice a year to do my shows. I must say all of the models loved being made up by them, because they always made them looked beautiful. He has sadly passed, but Robyn continues to be one of California’s premiere makeup artists to the STARS……. So….the shirt……one day we were talking and Robyn said, “you know what I really need!”, I said, “Robyn what do you really need?”. She said, “I need a white shirt, but just not any white shirt….I want a white COTTON classic man’s  shirt for a woman, with a little stretch and NO polyester! I want it long enough to cover my butt [her words], and I want it to have SHAPE!!! I don’t want a big baggy shirt, but I want to be able to work in it all day long, standing in  the salon, [she works out of the Sally Hirshberger salon in LA], so it has to be comfortable, but still show my shape. I designed this shirt for Robyn and I think she has a dozen of them in white and I think a half dozen of the navy and chino. I even think she has sold a few at the salon….giving the A number out to her clients…..LOL…. I searched for the right cotton fabric with no success….so I had it made. This shirting has a fine twill construction which give the fabric a little more weight than your average white shirt. It is 98% cotton and 2 % spandex for comfort. It is 27 inches long for an xs and has a shirt tail bottom. For shape I have added princess seams front and back and to give it the extra special menswear detail….I added collar stays to always keep the collar crisp as a shirt collar should be…..no curling! It is cotton so if you choose to launder it…. it will require some pressing…….for me….it’s worth it to have a quality shirt at an UNBELIEVABLE price. You will not find this exact shirt anywhere else. It you are a white or a mens shirt lover……..you will LOVE this shirt as many already have….and I think you may, like Robyn, want multiples…………..love, Louis

Valentine’s Day SNEAK PEEK

The Valentine’s Day Sneak Peek is the A221806, the TRIBAL PRINT PEASANT TOP. It is made out of the same poly/span jersey [I think we will have to name this fabric too], as the Python and all the other printed jersey tops I have done. There are many designer details to this top. One of the main features is the contrast of the solid jersey used for the back panel, sleeve trim and draw string tie at the neckline. It’s a new way of color blocking and adds that element of surprise. It takes it out of the ordinary. The solid fabric is the exact same fabric as the jersey pull-on pant from the last show, A221815. The colors of the top are the same as the Tribal cardigan, OLIVE, BLACK, ESPRESSO and NAVY. This top looks great belted or loose and the bottoms you can choose from are endless…..pencil, peasant  and Boho shirts to all kinds of pants from Bermuda shorts, Capri pants, crops and full length pants. With the olive you can wear, natural, sand, sage and olive bottoms. With the navy….navy gray, white and of course denim. The espresso takes espresso, sand, khaki and ivory and the black looks great with black, gray and white or off white. Again, the fabric is great for travel and is easy care. I can not emphasize enough how on trend all kinds of TRIBAL prints have become this season……..for me they are always “in”…….ethnic anything never goes out of fashion……it’s like saying African culture is out. I am sure you will come up with many different colors to wear with these tops and many different coordinates to put with them…………..Happy Valentine’s Day to ALL!……………much Love, Louis

UK BOUND!!

Hi Everyone,
I thought I would let you all know that this year I will make several appearances on QVC UK. Jac and I are very excited to make the trip and we are planning a mini vacation before the show takes place. I will be appearing on QVC UK on March 20th, and I will have two shows that day. If you have any friends in Great Brittan be sure to let them know I’m coming!! The clothes will be exactly the same clothes that we sell here in the US…..absolutely no changes….We plan on taking in all the sights and doing a little antiquing. We already have tickets to two shows, “Ghost” and “Hay Fever” a Noel Coward play. If you have been over the pond recently and have any suggestions about restaurants, nothing formal, that would be very much appreciated. The UK staff has already suggested many wonderful places to eat but all suggestions are welcome. This trip we will be staying at the Dorchester. Jac wanted to stay there because that was Elizabet Taylor’s favorite hotel….however…. we will not be staying in her suite! We have three additional trips planned this year so it’s going to be very hectic. We would love to make each one a mini vacation. If you have any friends there, maybe they can order you things that you missed out on LOL. They will not be carrying the jewelry line…..yet!…. but I will work on them!!……………much Love, Louis
