“MY BROTHER MAURO”

………….I have been reaching into my boxes of photos and sharing with you my families photos……These photos are of my oldest brother Mauro…….Wasn’t he the most beautiful baby…..almost 10 pounds! He was also a beautiful child with his pale skin, light brown hair and beautiful HAZEL EYES!…….I’m sure my father wondered where he came from…LOL….thought some of the boys on my mom’s side of the family had light hair and pale eyes……I especially love the pictures of my grandfather holding his namesake, [upper left], and the one with him hugging my mom so tight at the bottom right!….. There was a large age gap between us…seven years…… He was my older brother, and he was wonderful to me when I was little, but as I got older I became the pesky brother, and we had very little in common….We became close again when I got older and the age gap dwindled….I love his family, and I love being the Big Uncle, and God Father to two of his sons….We speak at the very least once a day and often more…..He helps me with everything, because I can be very helpless at times…..He used to tease me and say….”it’s a good thing you can push a pencil around a piece of paper” He was right….If I couldn’t draw I don’t know what I would have become?………I love my brother and he knows it……but more importantly……. I know he loves me!

“I HAVE KNEW TENENTS!”

…………………Four days ago Franco found two baby deer by the side of my garage. He said they were just born within hours, because they couldn’t walk yet. When I went to look a day later….they were gone…….Today I saw one of the fawns near my lion sculpture. It keep darting in and out of the hedges. Then the mamma leaped over the fence from my neighbors house, and scooted the little fawn back into the bushes. It won’t be long before this little one starts to leap over the fences too!…….I don’t know where the second fawn is????

“HAPPY FATHER’S DAY”

…………………….Happy Father’s Day in Heaven………What Can I tell you about my Dad?……He loved music and had a collection of over 1000 albums….He was a big jokester, and loved to have a good time with family and friends…..He knew everyone and loved people. They used to call him “The Mayor”. He loved Italian food, and good Italian wine…….He was brought up by his dad drinking wine, and so were we……mixed with water!….He loved his home….it was his castle……He had a beautiful finished basement where he would sit for hours listening to his music. Sometimes I would sit with him and he would give me a Raspberry Brandy in a very small cordial glass…….My dad was not a very demonstrative man with his children…..Sometimes I thought it was me….until I had a conversation with my brother, and he told me he was that with him and my other brother John too…….The first time I ever saw my Dad get emotional with me was when I gave him and my mother first class round trip tickets to Hawaii as a gift….he cried…..I know my father was always proud of my accomplishments, and those of my brothers. My parents were always there to cheer me on when I received an award. I know he loved his family and his grandchildren, though he didn’t always show it…………What I do know was how much he loved my mother…..She was his one true love. I never ever heard that he had another girlfriend while he waited for my mother to say yes…..My brothers moved out of the house when they were in their early 20s and I moved into NYC when I was 19 and going to Parsons…..My parents were empty nesters for a long long time…..When my mom passed away at 95 years old my dad was very lonely though he never complained. Then about a week after she died he told me my mom was calling him. He died two weeks after her…..Now they are in Heaven for all eternity…..I hope young and beautiful!………………….Happy Father’s Day Dad!
