“BOUCLE JACKET”

………………………When I first saw this fabric it reminded me of similar fabrics I had seen from different companies in Europe that specialize in these fabrics. These thick looped fabrics are very popular for outerwear jackets and coats. I fell in love with this fabric’s rich texture. The jacket/coat had bracelet length sleeves, a shirt collar, band pockets, DROP SHOULDERS and a slightly cocoon shape. The boucle held the shape perfectly. It came in…….MALACHITE……..RUBY……..and SAPPHIRE. These were colors that were soon to show up for the next month in a reorder blazer…Whisper Knits, a Ponte knit dress, and sequin separates…….Besides being beautiful, these jackets were very durable!……There was lots of Holiday jewelry developed for this time period too!

“THE HOODIE PONTE BLAZER”

……………………The HOODIE PONTE JACKET was one of my favorite jackets that I did for Linea. I thought it played so many roles in a woman’s wardrobe from a very unusual unique dressy blazer to a very casual new take on a hoodie….to be worn with jeans! The buyers must have believed in this style because they bought it in four colors…..WINE…..SAPPHIRE…..HEATHER CHARCOAL…..and BLACK. It had a yoke front and back, and lots of shaping seams…..plus it had band pockets….There was a little controversary over this jacket, because some didn’t understand putting a hood on a blazer, but they missed the point of a classic blazer with an unusual edge….However, many did understand it, and  the jacket did very well!…..It became a reorder, and still has that wonderful edge.

“THE BLOUSE & CARDIGAN”

…………………………With each new group I like to have at least one new shirt or blouse for layering…………The blouse was in a weighty faux de Chine that had a washed hand so it was very soft, but also had a semi sheen to it for a dressier look. It came in SMOKE and LILAC which coordinated with the tweed jackets………….The wool and acrylic tunic cardigan had high side slits and came in LILAC and GRAPHITE…….a darker smoke color. The blouse and cardigan worked wonderfully together, and both pieces layered well with the tweed jackets.

“THE QUILTED VEST”

………………………..I happen to love vests, especially when they can serve dual purposes to be worn on their own, and as a layering piece under jackets and other outwear pieces…………..This quilted fabric was very interesting in that the diamond pattern was woven into the fabric and not created by stitching which many diamond quilt patterns are…..The fabric also had a matte SATIN sheen. It had a band collar, princess seams for shape, and inseam pockets……..It also had a TWO WAY ZIPPER, which made it very versatile and an easy fit. It looked great under many jackets from jean jackets….to leather and suede jackets…..to tweed and check blazers…….It came in two colors WALNUT and CADET BLUE…..So many women love to add a vest to their wardrobes.

“THE CHECK BLAZER”

……………………….The Men’s Check Plaid elongated blazer was made in a wonderful fabric that looked like a fabric from an English haberdasher. It had the look of a fine woven wool……It had a contrast fabric collar, and piping above the slanted flap pockets….It came in a BLUE/GREY/WINE combination and a BROWN/TAN/SIENNA combination. The trim fabric and the SLIM LEG zip front pant were made in the same heavier weight gaberdine…..very similar to my Linea Tuxedo and the two button classic blazer. The pant came in BLUE and BROWN. This was and is a timeless classic design that many designers including Ralph Lauren are still doing today.
