“THE KNIT LACE DRESS, APRIL 2013 CON’T”

………….This dress was all about the UNIQUE LACE KNIT……There was something very modern, very edgy and absolutely very EUROPEAN looking about this fabric. Due to the fact that it was a knit and had lots of STRETCH It could really be fit close to the body…not tight….but close. The DARTS and SEAMING were done in a way as to show up strongly as part of the DETAILING of the dress….another European concept.. It was lined in a contrast light jersey knit fabric [the same knit that I used in the BOHO skirts] to show off the lace pattern. The BAMBOO was lined in BLACK and the BLACK LACE dress was lined in WHITE so the pattern of the lace and the darting and seaming showed up. I used the new SHRUG as a cover up for the dress and it was perfect……This dress wasn’t for everyone, and I didn’t design it for everyone. It was for my FASHIONISTAS who were always looking for something new and different……..not an easy feat at these price points, but this dress exceeded even my expectations!…..It was simply CHIC then……..and IT STILL has a great EDGY LOOK TODAY!

“THE CRINKLE GAUZE FLYAWAY TUNIC SHIRT”

………………The Crinkle Gauze was another fabric I introduce in the April 2013 collection. When I found the fabric it “said” RESORT/SUMMER to me. It is a sheer fabric with this marvelous irregular crinkle texture. Since it is polyester the crinkle pattern is permanently set into the fabric with a heat process similar to creating a pleated fabric. It had a classic shirt and stand collar, and had a button front. The body FLARED out to give the shirt the airy floating quality I wanted. I new it would be beautiful caught in Island breezes….The kimono type loose sleeves were 3/4 length. The sides of the shirt were longer than the front and back…..It came in……WHITE…..TURQUOISE and BLACK…..This was one of Jac’s favorites. She wore it all summer long, and a top she favored to wear out to dinner. It looked great all buttoned up with a tank………or opened as a breezy shirt jacket.

“THE CRINKLE DOUBLE GEORGETTE GAUZE DRESS”

………….This dress in the Crinkle Gauze was another of Jac’s favorites. It had a tank top and an Empire waist line. There were many TOP STITCHED SEAMS to give detail to the dress…..and its’ FIT & FLARE SHAPE! The sides dipped like a handkerchief. It had patch square pockets sewn on in an angle…It was lined with an attached light knit tank dress, because the fabric was so sheer. It was truly like wearing air…..It came in TURQUOISE……BLACK…….and WHITE……….The perfect accessory dress……The crinkle gauze shirt could be used as a coverup….or the new open knit shrug was perfection as well.
