…………………….I have now pretty much seen all of the European, and American Fashion shows for Fall 24′, and the one I personally liked the very best was…….CELINE…….This was a surprise for me, because over the past few years it has been good, but never a stand out for me, but Hedi Slimane hit this sleek collection out of the park!!!!!………….WHY I LIKED THIS SHOW……………The number one reason was the strong CONSISTANT MESSAGE from the first model to the last……All of the models wore their hair exactly the same way….slicked back in a chignon, and the make was consistent on all of the models. It sort of reminded me of Marissa Berenson during the 60s……Actually, the entire show reminded me of the 60s with a strong dose of Courreges, but it was ALL HEDI………It was for a young customer with all of the skirts and dresses super SHORT, though my guess would be there are longer options once buyers get to the showroom…..or else it will be extremely limited as to who can wear this very short length….The fabrics were beautiful……The large variety of jackets and skirts were well thought out to the last detail, and never strayed from the message…The dresses were all beautiful…..The embroideries were exquisite and couture looking…….All of the accessories….hats, jewelry, sunglasses hand bags and footwear were IMHO perfection…..I know there will be those women who will discount this collection because of the skirt length, but as I said I would think there would be other options in the showroom. ……Mr. Slimane kept true to the message, and it was STRONG and CLEAR….not ONE misstep…….and, for me…..PERFECT!

………………..Mr. Slimane’s details were restrained, but very beautiful. His color pallet was controlled….black, gray, white, and shades of pale terracotta and honey beige……He used leather and patent leather masterfully, and his faux furs add something special, and were not just gratuitous…….His embroideries were fun and youthful, but always sophisticated and chic……a marvelous collection!

……………………The CELINE show was everything I look for in a collection, and Hedi Slimane had it all….He checked all of my boxes……..Congratulations to him…………..You can see the collection in motion on YouTube. It was a unique show! You will see what I mean when you watch it!

………………….Within every collection I have ever don KNITS have always played an important part…….sometimes as a garment, and sometimes as a part of a garment……From left to right…..The sketch at the lower left is a rib knit tank dress worn with a cropped zip front leather jacket…….Next is a rayon Cady bra top dress with a fully fashioned cropped cardigan….probably in a cashmere and silk blend…….Next is a Viscose/rayon Cady jacket. Under it is a dress with a fully fashioned rib knit slip top attached to a georgette bottom…….Next is the navy cropped almost bolero style rib knit open cardigan over a jumpsuit with an empire rib knit top and attached to wide leg palazzo pants…..Next is a jumpsuit with a ribbed knit fully fashioned top attached to wide leg pants and a georgette overlay with slits to the knit top……..Next is a fully fashioned cotton/lycra slip top attached to a bias georgette skirt…….Mixing different fabrics and textures always makes an outfit more interesting.
