Louis: Tonight on our PBS here in New Mexico, the Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert is playing at the Palace gardens. The crowds are tremendous not only those sitting and standing but those behind the philharmonic. I know walking to all the various concerts and outdoor events is half the fun, culture is everywhere and it is a way of life. Right now, they are showing the moving clock, another masterpiece along with the Neptune statue (they are playing DeBussy’s La Mer) makes me so homesick.
Dear Toni…..thanks to all of you who brought this program to our attention, Jac and I were able to watch. What a coincidence that we were at Schonbrunn just a few days before this show……it was like we were there………………
I am sure what you say about covering up is true. When we were in Morocco, all the men wore long caftans, but they were light color and not as constricting as the clothing the Arab women were wearing in the park. Black is the worst color to wear in the blazing sun……and unfortunately, there were no breezes.I wonder how the next generation of young girls who are allowed to wear western clothes, will like having to dress in this manner once they marry.
You know Louis, it’s incredible the way animals are cared for in other countries, compared to the way they are in the United States. These cats are WELL FED, have a natural shine to their coats and look healthy.
But after visiting zoos in Honolulu, Santa Barbara and Lion Country in San Diego, I was in shock over the lack of care. The zoos didn’t appear clean and the animals, well, so sad. Enough of that, glad to see these guys are really being pampered!
My goodness, you and Jac must have GREAT backs to do all that walking, glorious place, noticed the male Lion laying on a branch – sneaky little guy, loved that picture. However, the grounds look well kept in the zoo, hate to see animals caged but somehow we have to save them from poachers so we don’t lose their beauty. What a job to keep those gardens so pristine, you took fantastic pictures and widescapes – what a trip, a trip of a lifetime. Thank you so much for taking the time to allow us to travel along with you and Jac. They say if you cover up in the heat, the sweat cools you off when breezes come, IF they come. That giraffe would look GREAT in your t-necks. Bless you both.
