……………….Fall is here….and I am lamenting the end of summer!….even thought I do love fall….but you know what comes after fall!……When I was designing a collection for Anne Klein..I usually did hundreds of quick croquis sketches, and chose from those what I wanted to make samples of. Then I would do a “work sketch” for my draping assistants which had detailed notes and was more of an accurate “working” sketch…….but…..when I had time, and was in the mood, I did more elaborate illustrations. I have very few of them, but some I saved. They were fun to do, but much more time consuming…They were for my own pleasure and creative outlet…..Here are examples of more illustrative sketches for a Fall collection…….On the left a wool embroidered coat with Mongolian lamb trim over a velvet vest, white blouse, and embroidered georgette scarf….to the right a shearling coat over a wool crepe tunic and a bolero in suede…I’m don’t remember what the bottom was supposed to be?? a skirt over pants??? a little overkill…LOL……..I always sketched berets!………..I would make all of these clothes today!!
Love fall!! See you mid October!!!
Always a thrill to see your genius in action!
