……………….This CHRISTMAS STOLLEN has been in the DUBELLE family for generations…..Jac used to bake it every Christmas morning with her mom, after a full day of kneading and rising until it was braided in currants, and left to rise for the last time overnight. When Jac’s mom moved in with us it became a DUBELLE-DELL’OLIO tradition….When Jac’s mom passed, Jac and I continued to make it ever Christmas……Now….I am keeping the tradition going by making one every Christmas morning…..It baked for 30-35 minutes and then out of the oven it came to be basted with lots of melted butter…..Once cool I dusted it with powdered sugar….or as Jac used to say….”SNOW ON THE MOUNTAIN”…….My coffee is brewing, and then I shall cut myself a BIG PIECE!…….MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERTONE!!!…….and a MERRY CHRISTMAS….to my JAC.
Louis, Thank you for sharing your beautiful trees, decor and recipes with us–making all merry and bright! The porcelain story was especially touching. Wishing you a happy Christmas season and a healthy New Year. P.S. Wondering how many thousands of Linea fans (including me) are wearing your Scarlet Red during the holidays? 🙂
Merry Christmas to you, and thank you for sharing those wonderful memories! My mom was a HUGE Anne Klein fan–I remember when you, and Donna Karan, worked with her. All the best in 2025.
